Anybody looking for a set of gussetted spindles? I can do the prep welding and paint for $150 + your straight and uncracked cores and I can use whatever gussets you would like. For reference mine are allpro w/ swaybar and they are $70+ ship.

I have a set of cores that I can start sandblasting.

Here is how mine came out. I do them the best I can based on my research. Light preheat, move the welds around, and a slow controlled cool.

At a new inspection station…again told they wouldn’t even look at it, tires are big, no mudflaps. Had them read up and get educated.

Head mechanic was pissed, he’s been swapping 37s for years:rofl::rofl:

Funny - i immediately thought after I saw the post "hey I should reach out to that guy if he'll donate one for AOAA!"

    All's well that ends well!

Maybe I'll put some rum in for a cause....

We mocked up the flatbed size this weekend. So exited to build the bed then move onto the camper.

For people who dont know tiff she is a towering 5 foot nothin.

I know you'll have to get out to get into the camper, but you're really going to like going from nothing to setup with little to no effort, especially on those nights you show up late, raining, etc.

I'm excited to see it, what are you using for the shell material? Insulating or just raw dogging it once it's weather tight?
Would you consider going above the cab with a little cubby for storage? Like this, but smaller:
    upload_2025-3-3_13-24-8.png

I'm just assuming the cab comes up to that first cross bar:

Yep so that design is super rough right now, just truing to get an idea for weight.

So starting on the outside itll be 3mm ACM, if your not familiar super common for making signs out of. Then 1" pink foam insulation. Then 1/4" birch ply on the inside for most of it. Then for structure itll be 3/4 sq tube for most of it.

Going over cab you need to strengthen it up alot (adding material and weight). And we want to be able to bring kayaks.

Goal of this thing is a little tiny hotel room that I can wheel and jump the truck without issues.

Itll be so nice. I think every time we show up in NMW its like midnight and raining and these things show up.

Side note. She is such a talented photographer

My rule before I go to bed (usually, unless I am 3 sheets to the wind and it doesn't happen) is that I pack up and be ready to roll out under rain. There have been several times I have woken up to dumping rain, rolled over and just driven away :)

Swing out on the back? Fold out table on the outside? Awnings? Just curious.

I'm excited for it, can't wait to show up to Maine this year and we all roll up and just be done, and only one person has to actually do anything :spy:

No swingout, no real reason to move the tire. With 35's itll just the bolted to the back of the camper in camper mode(itll be built to suit) then bolted to the headache rack on local trips. Table I am not sure about at all. There Will be a ton of storage in the bed. Awning could happen but Im a fan of our gazelle thing for now. Its probably lighter too.

I thought that was Austin's, now I'm piecing it all together!

Got the fridge in the truck today, letting mother nature bring it down to a good temp overnight then I'll kick it on in the morning. That's another plus to my setup - I can reach the snacks from my sleeping cot :)

Kind of off topic but we're going to be in Manchester NH late this month (NCAA hockey tourny) for a few days.
    Any restaurant /bar/ brewery recommendations?
