Hi everyone, Been lurking around the site for a while and really love it. Lots of helpful information, really kept me busy. Anywho here is my story, I am a student pilot about to graduate and hopefully move onto bigger and better things. i have a beautiful 1991 pickup 3.0 5 speed 4X4 with only 100K original miles, that i hate to part with but am really jonesing for a new truck with 4 doors to haul around the recent additions to my family (new wife and two beautiful step daughters)

what to you think its worth? I will need the cash to put down towards the new truck. Im thinking list it at $6,000 and take any cash offer north of about $4800. Does that sound unreasonable to anyone? what would you pay for it? or for that matter make me an offer :) Ill try and post some picture as soon as i figure out how. lol

Thanks a lot and i look forward to getting to know people.

    Elliott

i sat here and actually argued with myself on whether your price was too high or too low, "damn, 6,000? it's 20 years old!!" . . . " but it's only got 100k and it's a toyota, 6000 really aint that bad" . . .. so i guess your good haha. welcome!

i really do think your in the right mind set. yes its a toyota, and it's got low miles, but 20 years is still quite a long time. 6,000 sounds like you would make enough to have got your money's worth out of it yet still have a chance to sell it. . . . the best way to figure it out is flip the situation. say you're on craigslist, see a 91 yr old toyota, what do you say to the mo fo asking for $6k?

edit: 1991, 20 YEAR OLD TOYOTA haha.

    Welcome from IA.
Have you checked what you could trade it in for?

havnt talked to a dealer about it, but being what it is, its simply not a vehicle that is worth it to the dealer to give top dollor for. we all know i could get more selling it privately. I will consider a trade in if i have no luck selling it within a reasonable time.

there is no way in hell you'll get 6 or anywhere close to that from a dealer. i would put that bitch on craigslist. i love craigslist and have bought and sold cars and trucks on there. . . somebody wants your truck, you just got to show it to them. . . (and CL hint, post it in your nearest major city, not like your small town or whatever. you'll get many many more views and hits)
