    It's cold down here, too.

I have work to do on my truck as well - it is supposed to be in the 60s this week. Let's hope! :D

Man you guys are lucky. I'd kill for some 60s degree weather and some sun right now. I probably have to work on my wife's car next week now that the rear wheel bearing decided to give out. Luckily it'll be in the mid 30s.

This is great info, thanks! Now I'm contemplating changing clips to maybe a 1" lift in front and getting stock leafs in back. I have 600# springs on the new shocks fyi. Also, not sure if your truck being called a Stinkbug by kids is good or not!

I have the TRD skid plate, sliders, and a roof rack. Planning on running the top clips (11/9) for that 2” of lift but seems like I may get slightly less as I’m getting slightly under 21” from center of wheel to fender and stock is 21” for front. Must be the weight I assume.

You'll likely lose around .2" with the weight that you're running. You're not quite a candidate for the heavier spring rate yet IMO, but if you added too much more I would probably encourage it.

Are you running 600lb or 650lb springs?

FWIW, I just added the 6112s on the 11/9 clip positions to my 2019 crew cab/Off Road and I too only have rock sliders, roof rack and TRD skid plate...my center of wheel to fender is 22.5" on both sides.

I am assuming they will be 600lb springs

They all come with 600# springs.

You have to order the 650# separately.

Oh it was bad. I have a mid-rise topper on the back and the amount of rake was just silly, stupid. When they said it I was like "Damn these kids know what they are talking about."

    Hey y’all,
Just ordered a set of 6112 (stoked!) and had a couple questions. I’m looking to use the stock UCAs for now so I don’t want to go over a 2” lift. It’s on a 2nd gen DCLB so should I run 1.8” (9/7) or 2.2” (10/8)?

I’ve got add a leaf in the back which gives me 1.5” even with my fiberglass shell. I like the leveled look but I do load it down. Using the truck for dirt road exploration (Utah) and want good ride quality for driving spiritedly with a load. I don’t want to loose down travel which makes me lean towards 1.8” but I also have a 2” lift right now (spacers and 3rd gen OR takeoffs) and I love the look of 2”.

On a related note, lots of people talk about keeping the truck under 2” lift for good alignment but is that lumping 3rd and 2nd gens together? For example, if a 3rd gen is already an inch higher wouldn’t a 2” lift on a 3rd be the same as a 3” on a 2nd? By that logic I could put the shocks at the full clip (2.5”) and still get good alignment numbers (with a good alignment technician).

    Thanks for the info!
    Max

I don't have any answers for you, yet...I'll be installing 6112's on the highest clip (11/9) in the front with 3" leafs and 5160's in the rear in the next few weeks. I'm going to re-use my stock UCA's and see what happens. Will keep you posted!

Short answer is probably yes. The OE front shocks are the same length shock, but different springs and valving. I always will recommend anything over 2" be paired with a new UCA across both gens to ensure that correct alignment is able to be achieved. What I don't know for sure is if the UCA/LCA mounting points are in the same positions relative to one another between generations. If they are identical then you should theoretically still be able to get alignment back into spec with stock components.
If you haven't already picked them up we'd be happy to help over here at Hotshot Offroad

    I just got it!
I've had my 6112s in the garage for a bit, but it looks like this weekend is when they go on. I've done this stuff on a dozen different types of trucks/suspensions, but it's been a hot minute since I touched a toyota. I'll be glad to measure/document/photo the results of the install of the 6116s and AALs on my little '23 OR CC LB.....but my 1st newb question of the day....

Where is the best thread to check out as far as install process to be prepared, and avoid any of the wierd little gremlins that pop up, specific to this particular task? I'm also doing UCAs, but more worried about stuffing these strut/springs in..

I appreciate the wealth of knowledge this place has been since I bought the truck a couple months ago, and thank you for your help, in advance.

I just received a new set of 6112s from @memario1214 (great price and fast shipping!)

My current ones have over 100K miles on them, as does the front end. I will be rebuilding the front end - these new Bilsteins should last another 100K miles!

Hello Sir, beautiful ride, I had a question, I have 6112s and icon rxt leaf pack to be installed on my 2021 TRD offroad. I would love to get the same stance. I currently run 33.12.5x17 grapplers on some cheap block lift kit that came with the truck . My plan is to set the 6112s at 11/9 and the rxt at option 2, will this get me a similar look ? Thanks for any input.

I just (9 days ago) installed 6112/8100 dsa on my truck because my Dobinson twin tube shocks just weren't cutting it, they were nice but not nice enough to go fast.
So I figured this time I'll do what I should have done the first time and go 2.5 but $4000 for the full 8000 setup was a bit much so I went with the much cheaper 6112/8100 dsa.

Initial impressions on local low maintenance roads and washboard gravel are they are so damn good.

This summer I can't wait for my 2 trips where I will get to test them on logging roads in the north shore area and on the beach at Padre Island.
