    Hello Gents,

We're on a cross country tour from Canada with our 5th wheel, and after a couple of nights near George, Washington our Ram is fully stuck (buried up to the axels in very soft mud).

There were 3 other trucks that all needed a winch out on Saturday, but unfortunately when we tried leave on Sunday there was no one about.

What's more I fried reverse gear trying to get out (silly I know).

Don't suppose any of you are close by and fancy lending hand/testing out your winch?

Try post this in the Northwest forum too.
The more people see it, the better the chances someone can help.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/north-west.40/

If you have Facebook, you might try there too.
There are whole groups here in Tennessee dedicated to that.
Some guys live for it....It's like a hobby for them.

If I were close. I'd be tempted to try with my stock Tacoma.

I think that would come out of there pretty easy with 4ton come-a-long and a snatch block.
Not sure I'd want to brute force it with a tow rope. I'd just dig myself in with them.

    Keep us updated OP.

I once pulled out a 2500 dodge ram with my Land Cruiser with ease. Sometimes a little tug is all they need. This OP is pretty stuck though. Hope they are OK.

Same here. Except it was an F250.
He wasn't stuck bad. Open diff and his 4WD wasn't working.

Thanks for the info gents, by way of update, I was suggested to post on WORN by a few people and made a facebook account last night to do so. Unfortunately Facebook blocked my account (for being new I suppose ‍♂️) so I've emailed them instead - let's hope they pick up!

We're set for food and water for a few days waiting, but this place is mud bath/quicksand pit. Last night another truck arrived and didn't make it through the first puddle on the entrance before they needed a tow out.

Funny story, got a message about a recovery nearby, 40 minutes from home on the W.O.R.N. page, headed out to help at noon today. Turns out the guy came here to the Tacoma Forums looking for help.

Got him out, took a few pulls on the recovery rope with a Jeep to break the suction, then winched him to dry land.

We will also help if he needs it in a few days once he gets the truck fixed and needs to get the trailer out. Hopefully the reverse issue is just a sensor or connector issue and the ground dries out and becomes more solid.

Not going to lie, an incredible spot to be stuck for a week though.

    Good to hear.

And even better that there are still people out there willing to help a guy in need.
Maybe I can join in on a recovery one day.......

Or even worse, maybe I will need a recovery:anonymous:

You are very welcome, we are always willing to help. Please feel free to reach out if you have more trouble getting the trailer out, the winch bumper will still be on my Tacoma the next few weeks so don't hesitate to ask.

The great news, is that after a very thorough jet wash (avoiding the attendant, thanks for that advice), reverse decided to start engaging again!

What I didn't realise is that I had burned out my rears spinning the tires (literally down to the carcass). Currently hunting for some cheap local replacement tires and then we can try and get out properly next week (ground is firming up rapidly fortunately!)

That's some good news, there's a small tire shop here in Ellensburg that is reasonable, what size tire? I'll keep an eye out on Marketplace.

275/60/20s, I think Quincy/Ephrata/Moses Lake is about as far as I can safely make on the rears but I could probably creep to Ellensburg to be fair!
