    Good morning Wrenchmen :hattip:

Let's see if the photos are more cooperative today.

First, check the oil the plug on the right is the level - none...

    20250303_155105.jpg

Use 20 or 30 grade non detergent oil, automotive oils will make foam in air compressor service - foam gets by the rings and into your compressed air. :puke:
    Foam doesn't lubricate well either.

Adding oil is easy with a funnel and this flapper-dapper thing.

The motor pulley was broken, the V section that the belt rides on would spin on the center. It wasn't moving without some persuasive.

It doesn't know who it is messing with here, we have these situations covered.

    20250304_065941.jpg

    So there.

    20250304_065839.jpg

Fortunately in the archives I had a spare, nicer cast iron adjustable one.

    20250304_065857.jpg

These are in 2 pieces, the inner section goes on the motor shaft with a set screw to hold it. The outer threads on, tighter is taller which speeds up the belt.

We aren't remembered for what we have, we are remembered for what we gave away. I don't mean material things. Sounds like your FIL gave away a lot of good in his life

I saw this van from across the big pond at Lowe's yesterday, right hand steer. Not to sure how he was going to see out of the left side o_O

He still had a couple boards to put in.

I saw two guys that work there pointing at it, I can't imagine some of the stuff they see everyday :bananadead:

Wife and I painted Cole's room Saturday, the back wall I am covering in cedar planks. It smells good in there for now.

Wife got these 2 lights to put beside his bed, I said I don't want the wire hanging down the wall so I made a little dust with the router and hid it behind the planks. The bedside tables will cover the bottom.

I got to the top of the window covered, I'll finish this part Thursday afternoon.

The new pulley wouldn't slide on the motor due to the shaft being somewhat chewed...

With a a few drops of oil for the bearings, 20 grade ND again, plus a temporary cord the motor zinged to life. :)

I polished the shaft ;) with some sand cloth, installed the pulley and gave it a try.

The pump works & is quiet. :)

The bottom of the tank is a collection of rust & holes held together by habit.

No doubt, the job is done in minutes rather than the hour you would spend putting something together.

The cord came out of the bottom of the lamp, I redid it to where it's inside. I know going down the sheetrock like that isn't "right" but it works and we won't be hanging anything there anyway.

Gotta do what ya gotta do. You know it's there and the wood is already in place so I doubt you'll ever tear into it again. That's for the next owners.

I've been fighting my own battle. Due to the nature of how everything is setup in my garage it was never built to be one, so I cannot drill into all the beams. Sooo...

1" furring strips and drywall will space mine out fine.

I did have to get creative spacing the outlet boxes out 1 1/2". Scraps for the win :anonymous:

Also, ya gotta get creative running a wire in corners :anonymous:
