I'm having them only diagnose it for me. Mostly because I don't have the patience or brains for electrical work to that standard. They seem very confident in finding the issue. Will update everyone on what happens.

The threads on the bottom of the Schrader (that would thread into the bump / shock body) are all different. The threads on the top of the Schrader that you thread a chuck on are all the same, but since these are different lengths (sticking out from the bump body) some will seal inside my chuck and some (trail gear) will not seal properly because they are too short.

Be prepared for them to tell you they have to start with an alternator regardless of the fact you've been through a few already.

I would hook a scan tool up and see what the alternator load is through varying loads. Maybe it's full fielding all the time and burning it up. Have you ever the noticed the alternator being super hot?

Still has the mill finish on it too. So those welds, and thus, mostly the edge of the HAZ is contaminated by that. And if they didn't even clean that up i doubt they got anything right with preheat and post heat

Having worked with Docol and 4130, there really isn’t any upside to docol other than maybe a few seconds less prep. Docol cost is substantially higher for near identical performance. Although Docol is less rigid than 4130.

IMO they both weld identically as well, Docol might be slightly more “butter” like. I don’t think you will see many jumping ship from 4130 any time soon.

About a year ago my wholesale pricing was 1.5x more for docol. Being that Docol is imported, it’s probably going to climb even higher.

My 4130 pricing was almost in line with DOM.

The steel market fluctuates so much though that it can be unpredictable.

I guess I haven't really checked since I am not doing any cage work at the moment, but from AED in indy the pricing was $109/stick for R8 back in '21 and $150/stick.
Sadly local companies only carry DOM and HREW, which I will use for bumpers and stuff.

AED is who I go through for lots of my tube. Back in 21 all of the pricing was jacked up from that virus thing. I think AED might be the only supplier of Docol in the country actually.

Curious what DOM prices are around the country? A supplier told me 2.92/ft for sticks of 1-3/4 .120 dom which was way less than I was expecting... Wondering if it was wrong somehow but I double checked the specs

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

    I was just quoted $4.56 a ft for 1.75 x .120 last week.

I just paid over 7 bucks a foot for 2 inch x .120 last week.

2.92 is WAY cheap for 1.75 x .120 wall. Where was that at?
