Burger at the local golf course here is $21
Down the road at the local gin mill a burger is $16.50
Also I would never eat fast food at this point in my life . It’s been years since I stepped foot in one . I just saw an article about Chick- filet . The basic chicken sandwich has over 50 ingredients in it . Mostly chemicals .

Just to add a little March sunshine, today marks the birthday of pretty Kay Lenz (1953).
Although perhaps not quite a household name she pops up in movies and television from the late 60's onward.

Here she is looking a cute beatnik in the 1973 movie Breezy, also starring William Holden and directed by Clint Eastwood. The car is a not very common today 1967 Mercury Colony Park.




The Colony Park was uncommon when new with only around 24,500 produced in 1967, compare this to the Ford Country Squire with around 69,600 produced not including lower cost Country Sedan and Ranch Wagon models.


Weighing in around 4200 pounds the big Merc was a distinctive & expensive ride with a base price around $3700 before all the nice options that could be added, around $35,000 in todays money.



Engine choices were all from the Ford "FE" V8 family:
390 - 315 HP
410 "Maruader" - 330 HP
428 "Super Marauder" - 345 HP

Good morning shop crew, have a great Tuesday!

I replaced the headlights on the wife’s car yesterday. I think I should have done this a while ago It was a pretty simple job even though I did have to drop the bumper cover to get to one bolt and slide them out.

 

When we checked in to the hotel Saturday evening, they mentioned that we had put down that it's our anniversary. He then asked if we had plans for Monday. We said we were hiking Diamond Head. He said that he'd make sure something was dropped off in the room while we were out.

We got up to our room after checking in and there was a "happy anniversary" sign and a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts (you can buy them everywhere for about $7) on the bed. We figured that was what was going to be dropped off on Monday but they had already done it.

When we got back from Diamond Head, the cleaning staff had been there but nothing was left so we assumed we were right that the chocolates were the anniversary gift.

We went to dinner and watched the sunset then headed back to the room.

A tray had been dropped off while we were out. It contained another box of chocolate covered macadamias, candied popcorn, "Wicked Wahoo Jerkey", pork rinds, jelly beans, "macadamia nut delights" and 6 fresh chocolate covered strawberries.

I feel a little bad that our anniversary was 2 months ago but they got enough of our money so I don't feel too bad.

 

M10 x 1.0. Whatever fit in the 1/4" hole I drilled through the bolt.

 

Sorry to hear that. Glad he was able to make an impact in your life in a way that let you remember him fondly. May he live on in your memories.
