Anyone with 255/75/17??

How do you like these?

I've been running 255/80r17 ST Maxx for about 80k miles and I just took a 5in spike through one that punctured the belt. I've been debating dropping down to a C rated tired for better on road noise and comfort, but looks like I need to drop down to a 255/75r17 to get out of the E rateds.

These look like a good option and are also 18lbs lighter than my current coopers.

 

I've been really happy with them. They're good in the rain, quiet enough on road, for the type off roading I usually do they've been great. I'm really happy with them on the sand/beach and they've done well on the mild trails and FSRs around here. I won't have them in the snow for a few more months but I've read good things about them so I'm looking forward to finding out.

Plus I think they look good too.

 

Awesome, yes my only offloading is alot of beach driving for fishing. I don't need an E load for that. I was hoping to find something C load in 255/80r17 but looks like I need to downsize.

How did that work for you ? I have SCS ray 10 17×8.5 -10 with a 2" front bilstien and a 1" block in the rear wondering if these tires will rub with that set up!

What do you think, going from the 265/75r16’s to the 255/75r17’s? Like looking truck!

 

Installed yesterday (2/11) really like the ride and look! Duratrac RT’s 255/75r17 Sport wheels no rub.

 

Coming up on a year with these. Firestone Destination XT, 100% would buy again. We got a little ice today.

 

Has anyone tried this tire size on stock TRD Sport wheels? I know the offset on them is something like +30 so I didn't know if there'd be rubbing issues or anything. Also, new to tires so I'm stumbling along lol

 

I ran some 255/75s on the 2020-2023 Sport wheels. They look different but are the same dimensions as the 2016-2019 Sport wheels. They’ll fit fine with no rub at all, even on mud flaps.

 

Thanks for the reply! Did you run them with a lift? I'm planning on doing 5100's all the way around with about an inch or so lift in the front.

 

No lift, all stock OR suspension. Lift really doesn’t do anything to help with tires, but it doesn’t hurt tire clearance either. You’ll be good to go.

Here are the tires! Really appreciate the help, no rubbing at all and they drive real similar to stock. These tires are about 6 pounds heavier each than the stock ones so we'll see if it has much of an effect on the MPGs.

 

You might have to reword your statement a wee bit. Check out your upper control arm. Appears to have a rub in right hand turns. ??
Also, your milage calibrations might require compensating for the tire height change - if you changed away from original size. Consider that as well as weight.

Update: I've done a decent bit of mixed driving and have not seen any more tire rub marks, the other side of the vehicle has non at all on the UCA so I'm wondering if that rub was from something beforehand. Anyways, still happy with the tires, but can tell there's a drop in MPG (1-2ish) and power
