Set a towel on top of the effected area, spray vinegar on the towel till it’s soaking wet, let it sit as much time as necessary for the vinegar to soften/dissolved the mineral off the paint, polish and wax the surface. That’s what I did to my car which was parked by the sprinkler for long period of time.

Rainwater shouldn’t be as hard as something like tap or well water.

Are you sure they’re mineral deposits? I was helping a girlfriend clean her 2023 Lexus RX 350 the other week and what initially looked like water spots on the hood turned out to be clearcoat defects(!)

Post up pix if you can and what polishing pad you are using. If it’s really bad, you’ll need an aggressive compound pad and heavy duty compound.

That some nasty rain if it etched the paint only a week later. Can’t imagine the rain water being that hard.

Never polish pad, by hand. I'll try post when I get home. It very faint only can see at angles hoe my phone van capture it. It garage kept and only driven twice a week. It poured last week and was sunny right after. The truck is ceramic coated.

Then you will want to get a heavy cutting compound with heavy cutting polish. I had a client who had spots alllll over her brand new vehicle and had to do this.

So went again with the chemical guy water spot remover. It removed most of it, but still can see parts of the waterspot

It sounds like the water spots might have etched into the clear coat, which is why they’re still visible even after using a remover. Chemical removers usually work on surface-level mineral deposits, but once the damage sets in, you may need a light polish or clay bar treatment. Try using a fine clay bar with a proper lubricant to see if it lifts the residue. If that doesn’t work, a finishing polish with a microfiber or foam pad should help remove the outlines. To prevent future spots, consider using a water-repelling sealant or window tinting when possible.

Get some wire wheel cleaner, spray one section at a time with the top first. Then with a micro rag spread it evenly and rinse off good. This works extremely well and is better than anything I have used in my 40 years of detailing. Don't waste your money on Sud Factory water spot junk. No need to wet sand, buff or home remedies to get the stains off but that rainwater spots could have been acid rain, but the wire wheel cleaner will work!

I found this to be one of the most useless products they make.

If you have some really gnarly water spots that won't come off, the SudsFactory stuff is insane. It will remove any other coatings, including real ceramic's, but it'll get your spots off with no paint damage.

Don't know why the other user doesn't like them. I've tried everrrryyyything and that stuff is a miracle cure. I have both the paint and glass versions and with absolutely zero effort, all the spots I've ever tried removing comes off. It's the only stuff that has gotten off stubborn spots that even a razor blade, claybar, buffers, and every other home concoction won't remove. Things that appeared etched vanish.

spray on a wet surface one section at a time, rub it in and rinse. Start on the top and work down, rinse well as you go
