I have a 2025 OR non hybrid in transit, arriving 3/13 to 3/24. I had one that arrived at the dealership 2/3 and was unable to pick it up due to the stop sale. It is still sitting in the dealership’s lot. I will be curious to see what, if anything, was done to this new one arriving. I’ll post photos of the brake lines when/if I get it.

FWIW, 2nd gen with metal brake line to caliper. Original brake lines from 2011 in an area with tons of salt in the winter, obviously. It adds a layer of challenge to changing the calipers, but far from difficult to do. And these have pretty sharp bends, so there's room to think it could be a reasonable fix for the recall.

The recall applies to a certain range of production dates. Can't recall at the moment exactly which. Some trucks are arriving to dealerships available to sell on arrival, even during the stop sale. As I was negotiating (right after stop sale was announced) they were trying to entice me with trucks which would arrive soon and be able to drive off the lot right away. So they must have been coming out after the fix was implemented on the production line.

While I was getting new tires this morning, and the wheels were off, I took pictures of the rear brake lines. No rubbing.

    Good question!

I chose a random “in transit” TRDOR listing from a local dealer and pasted the VIN into the search form at the link below. There were no results for an active recall, so it does appear that trucks in transit can legally be sold upon arrival.

Yeah, at two dealerships where I am there are 2025s that can be sold but their 2024s can’t be sold. I’ll save about $4k if I wait for the 2024 to be fixed though so I’m tying to wait. Hard without a truck though.

There is approximately 1/2" - 3/4" clearance between the wheel and brake line. Rubbing is secondary (and still important) to the more daunting issue of foreign matter getting stuck in there and causing catastrophic failure of the rear breaks. No bueno...

Trailhunter owner here. This is what the hybrid brake line looks like with 17” aftermarket wheels. Clearly I didn’t read this thread before I changed my wheels. If the recall isn’t expanded to us hybrid owners, I may go back to the 18” TH wheels. So far it’s about 1.5” away and I’m checking it each time I off-road and no issues - but it doesn’t make me feel warm and fuzzy. I’ll give it a few months.

It’s an odd design choice regardless of wheel size. Plenty of legitimate off-road trucks with 17” wheels from other brands and no issues. IMG_6413.jpg

Is it really that little clearance? My hybrid has more than that with aftermarket 17” wheels. I wonder if they are routed in exactly the same way. Regardless all these brake lines need to be changed to be more capable of sustaining caked mud, snow etc with no risk of failure.

At least you have a truck, I’ve got a deposit on one and can’t even take it off the lot. Hopefully they get this sorted soon

It’s not the end of the world. It’ll be sorted. Meanwhile, I saw the 2025 version of my truck and it has fewer features than mine for the same money. Zero regrets.

There are people on the "what did you pay" threads who have recently taken delivery of (non hybrid) 2025 TRD-OR's, which should in theory all be on hold and under the recall. So they must have a fix and they must be confident it in. But there are also some 2025's that are on hold. What gives? What the heck is going on? Also, none of the dealer websites I have looked at have ever noted any TRD-OR is not for sale until the recall fix is implemented.

Yeah up where I am some dealers still list them and then just say they can’t sell them when you go to test drive but they’ll have 2025 TRD OR coming in at then end of March that they can sell so something must be fixed. I’ve got a deposit on an Underground 2024 TRD OR that I can go sit in but not drive. Unfortunately my Gen 2 was just totalled and I’ve got no truck

True. But they didn’t stop sale and hold trucks on dealer lots
