I’m heading to Moab in couple weeks for maybe the fifth or sixth time. Curious if anyone here has run the Escalator on Hell’s Revenge in a mildly built Taco?

I’ve done the rest of the trail a few times — everything except the deepest hot tub and the escalator, and I keep eyeballing the escalator. Seen a couple videos of mild 2nd gens (33’s, no long travel) running the escalator — even one without a front locker — but the mild Tacos seem to be the exception to the rule.

For both scenery and thrills, what other trails should I not miss in southern Utah? 33’s, double locked. Also looking for hiking, camping, backpacking recommendations.

I’ve never done it on anything less than 35s.

Because you feel like that’s what it requires?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Just sitting at the top and eating lunch I watched some Jeep XJs on 31s get up it, a couple mild older pickups, and some random Dodge SUV, lockers and suspension travel are both more important than tire size on the Excalator I think, if you can keep your tires on the surface it isn't a tough obstacle really. Failing that and you want to get froggy I'd make sure you have a low COG at least

That’s also my thinking. I’m only on 2” lift with 33’s and keep the spare under the bed, but then I have a Vagabond Drifter camper, which is about 450 lbs. I’ve seen a Taco do it with more lift, a high mounted roof top tent, 35’s, a 35 on the swingout, and I’ve seen plenty of shorter wheelbase wranglers with much more lift, and am (guessing that with a 127” wheelbase I’m) a lot less tippy than the jeeps, but the second “stair step” would be the steepest thing I’ve tried.

Yep, in my 4runner on 33s and have seen dozens of 2nd gens on 33s do it.
