Nothing fancy or special basically just 4 legs welded to a piece of angle iron at w/e angle i decide and a flat 4x4 rack on top of the legs. ill do a ghetto "drawing" in paint. Its basically just going to hold my spare on top, hi-lift, shovel/axe, and some jerry cans. but im also goign to weld some type of 3" high wall all the way around it so i can put coolers and what not up there to and have all the underspace as storage as well for tents and whatnot.

Ha, alright man i gotcha. You want it exactly the same as mine?? or you gonna look at mine first?

Im almost embarrased to even show this worthless piece of art i created in pain, i will draw it out on paper and take a pic and you will get a WAY better idea. but this is the basic outline

Just sharing my opinion but you might consider just the opposite with how you pack gear in your bed/rack. You'll be much happier with the heavy stuff like a spare, Jerry cans, and coolers secured below the rack and the lighter stuff carried up on the rack. Your COG will be much better that way and it will handle way better.

I understand where your coming from, but it wasnt a very clear example as to how i would really mount the stuff. the spare will difinatly be up top but as for the jerry cans i was thinking more of being on the side of the rack where you have your light or on the side of the bed somewhere. and as for coolers yes i would put them under the rack if i had say more than one but i hardly ever really go out on excursions so id never have more than one unless i had a big one and a little one, the most i would really use it for is camping at teh lake and on fishing trips and what not. As for my offroad excursions i would just leave the spare up top and have everything else under it witht eh hi lift like yours is mounted on the side or possibly the front or back.

EDIT: The rack will be way mroe in depth than that sorry little paint drawing, it was getting way to crowded with all the black lines, im going to spend some time today drawing it all out on paper to get a better idea and maybe build one out of 2x4's or somethin for shits and giggles

????tell me before i start so mine can be as cool as yours :D

Might can wing somethin for ya!

Heres a wood mock up of the rack but this is a very simple figure i threw together in like an hour. but of course there will be slats in it as well and the piece of angle iron on the bed rails, i will work on drawing it out on paper since im not technology inclined and it will be full out detailed drawing.

    0418111222_b63546b27c5bd8f61ad58da67f3ff8822d3efb9c.jpg

But thats just a pretty basic outline of what ill be making but ill add a few things here and there and change some stuff up.
