I live the G Pro mostly because of PowerPlay. Having a wireless mouse pad that charges the mouse is just something no one else had done and is a major plus for me. I've ran Razor, Glorious, and a few others over the years. I dont think I'd do Razor again, the software is terrible. Glorious failed fairly quickly and was constantly getting firmware updates that would break functionality. If I left Logi, I'd probably go Steel Series or Asus but for now I'm happy.

I almost went that route at one point but stuck to my guns and said screw Logitech

I don't mind shelling out on goods, I just hate how unreliable they had became (mice)

With all these 50xx series sales, maybe I can sell my extra 780TI or Titan for someone that needs a physx card

My wife unfortunately bought and tried a crap ton of mice, keyboards, and headsets before settling on some steelseries/logi stuff. We've only had good experience with logitech (so far), but she definitely prefers her steelseries mouse.

I will say though that Logis RMA process is fantastic. AFAIK they're the only company that will ship you a replacement within 72 hours of receiving your broken equipment, and ive never had an RMA refused.

At this point I'm basically down to just a Logi mouse. I run a Steelseries headset, Asus keyboard (because hot swap and on board controls and OLED for function control on the fly), and a Elgato (Corsair) Webcam. I gave up on supporting any one ecosystem a while ago when I realized every company has something they're good at.

I just tried best buy for fun on a 5080. All 4 were sold out while waiting for my place in line and the 5th wasn't available within a 250 mile radius. Strange that you have to pick them up in store and they wouldn't ship.

Whatever, I'm very happy to have the msi launch edition 5070ti.

You might. There's been an uptick in the 1050Ti being searched on eBay. Folks are mostly looking for the cards that don't require external power.

Its funny though. The whole point of nVidia buying Physx was to move the calculations to the GPU so one card could do everything. Now we're back to having to use a dedicated Phsyx card...

Wait, hold the fort, Best Buy has stores still? I think I bought my 6900XT a few years ago from them.

This 502 Hero was an evening emergency buy when my 502 died. I remember we were planning for an all nighter and I kept getting the ghost clicking issue so I made a quick trip to Best Buy.

The 502 was taken care of under RMA and so I sold the replacement since I had just bought the 502 Hero.

    20250305_090751.jpg

The 903 that was replaced by the 502 that failed, why? Because the 903 failed the same way. Still looks new (just pulled these out of the closet).

    20250305_090718.jpg

Both are no good for FPS yet I can still rock this if I want to go old school; it's quite a few years older.

    No ghost clicking at all.

Yep, its where people go to look at big TVs and surround sound systems while they wait for a table to become available next door at the neighboring restaurant:thumbsup: I think "normal" people order electronics for in-store pickup and still visit the stores. Can't say I've seen any customers browsing items throughout the store any time I've been there in the last few years. Its usually just an empty store and a line of people up at the front at customer support/store pickup/checkout.

I don't go there much, but the Scottsdale location has a really nice high end audio and home theater setup room. McIntosh Audio, ect. Crutchfield is a much better store for that kind of stuff though.

All the Best Buys in my area have closed down, I honestly thought they were closing all stores, but don't quote me on that, I haven't finished my pot of coffee for the day yet.

    Multiple Best Buys here

Like mentioned, people just go in to pick stuff up

You go any time during the week or weekend and the stores in general are always empty sans the pick up/customer service line

If anyone is grabbing a 9070XT, keep in mind that AMD decided to allow the manufacturers way more room to factory overclock the GPUs than we've seen in a long time. The official TDP is 304 watts, but AMD is allowing factory power limits to go up to 340 watts sustained and factory boost wattage to exceed 400 watts. This is also why reviews are all over the map in terms of performance. In this generation, it's totally possible to have two different card models from the same manufacturer have a 5% performance gap between them.

This is actually a good thing. People forget that EVGA left the market because margins from nVidia kept tightening and EVGA had no way to easily differentiate their cards while maintaining the specifications nVidia enforced. AMD is reopening the door to companies being able to actually differentiate their cards beyond the cooler designs and colour's. Now a manufacturer can make a manufacturers specification 9070XT with cheaper power delivery and cooling for MSRP and a card for $100 more that actually offers some real performance difference out of the box on top of better cooling and a sick design.

Most of the good cards have 3x 8Pin power. XFX, Sapphire, Asoos, Powercolor.

Agreed, but the basic cards from some manufacturers will stick closer to the base specifications. The message is not to buy the most expensive model. It's to check the specifications of the cards you're considering to compare Apples to Apples.

I was doing some testing earlier this week on my 4080 Super trying out some of thew features in the Nvidia software, the Automatic Tuning was running and it was showing 362 Watts of power going to it. I'm just hoping my fancy 90 degree 12V PWR connector holds up and doesn't burn my home down.

The 8 FPS is worth the risk. Plus with the insurance check you could just over pay for a 5090!
