    Hey all,

I know this is a well covered topic, I did search, but can’t find an answer to my specific question.

I need sway bar bushings. I’m going to go poly which come in 26mm and 27mm.

I measured my sway bar- 26.4mm. Measured it several times with two different pairs of calipers.

Do I go for the 26mm and they’ll be a little squished? Or do I size up to the 27mm, which would potentially be a little loose?

I am tracking down a clunk that I’ve isolated to the sway bar. The bushings have a good 2mm of space around the bar and allow it to move pretty freely. They are Moog bushings the previous owner installed, not sure how old they are but I have a feeling they’re the 27mm ones.

Squished. Then use poly grease, with gloves because that stuff won't come off easy.

Excellent, thank you. I’ve done poly bushings before so I know the drill, I just wasn’t sure about the size. I also considered just taking off the sway bar, but I don’t like the way the truck handles on-road without it. I like taking my corners fast and I’m a big fan of not flipping over.

make sure you check the sway bar links

in my experience.....that annoying clunking has always been my links (poor quality AM(twice) and i forgot to torque link bolts on one side) UGH

Oh it’s getting new links, too. Previous owner installed those Moog ones with the white “bushings” (which are literally plastic) and they don’t even tighten down enough to clamp against the sway bar. Like they’re just not designed in a way that will allow you to tighten it enough. It’s hard to describe. Look up a picture of them and you’ll see what I mean.
