So basically, i’ve had this issue with my manual safety switch for a while where it gets sticky when I don’t drive the truck for a while.

Well, I’m looking to sell the truck cause I got a new one for work so I PB blast the manual safety switch a little to loosen it up. I’ve done this before and not had any issues. However, this time when I go to turn the truck on after I get these two warnings and it doesn’t even attempt to turn over.

You think air blasting the area might help? Vacuum what exactly?

Check charging system is normal and always displayed if the ignition is on but the engine is not running. Focus on the brake system warning.

If it didn't turn over, it means the switch is still stuck on.

The warnings are what display of the ignition is turned on without the engine running.

The check charging system warning light came on today on my son's Tacoma. Drove it about 2 minutes over to AutoZone to have them check the battery and alternator. Noticed the power steering was out and the AC wasn't coming on.

Battery checked out good but the alternator fail. Upon further inspection the serpentine belt had broken in half. I borrowed a few tools and changed the belt out in the parking lot. Warning light went off as soon as I started the truck up and stayed off during a test drive so I think I'm all good now. Truck has 118k miles and I should have changed the belt sooner.
