Nice! I think I (now) know where your "elsewhere" was, and it's now on my list for a future trip. Our clue that it existed was in the cabin log, but we had no idea where it was when we were there. Seems like a nice hike and I look forward to the reward at the end!

    lol!

Oh, I also got to meet someone rather interesting at the tail end of this particular trip...

Cool! Didn’t realize he was a volunteer, but completely makes sense. At least he can ignore Space Karen’s emails by not being an employee.

Going super fast in a full-sized truck on a lightly dusted, windy, gravel road in a National Park. FAFO much?

Dodged that "bullet" a couple times. More times then not it was a SXS, but there have been some certified shitbox sedans.

I'd laugh. 40mph in 4th gear...Usually, a crash like that bends the valve cover bolts if it does not crack the cover or unseat the gasket. The crash bar and highway peg helped a lot--also lucky it didn't bend (the BMW bars attach in a couple of places). But riding a 500 pound bike like a fool in the sand? I'd say he was pretty lucky. Especially with the Pope Shield he's running.

Yeah, and here is what the douchebag said in the YT comments when someone asked him about the speed:

"I love life. I make the most of every moment. This has only made me stronger. We must learn to not fear, but to have faith and thrive."

Apparently he loves his life but doesn't give a fuck about anyone else's. The best outcome for the world is that people like this manage to off themselves quickly without managing to harm others in the process. I recommend he stick to motorcycles and other relatively low mass vehicles that leave his body maximally exposed to his own douchebaggery. Not a guarantee, but stacks the deck in a manner better for society at large.

Or, of course, the best solution is that he removes his head from his ass and starts smelling some sense instead of just his own farts. But I don't have high expectations for that happening...

I saw that comment and wanted to respond, but decided that arguing with an obvious moron wasn't worth my time.

edit: Obvious moron with an excess of money to burn.

He seems to have made some shitty mistakes. Rolls the Raptor, crashes the GS, gets turned around at the border for (at least) carrying a firearm. And those are just the three videos he's posted.

There are ways to die that are less dangerous to everyone else. And less painful. But He-Man does not know the meaning of the word pain! <grunt> <huff> <flex>

Idk. Watch videos of people ripping around the sand dunes. It's not hard to understand, especially when someone perceives SVR as an OHV trail and not a road.

I know how much fun they are to do but damn, I wish Toyota and Ford would quit selling vehicles with those kinds of videos.
