Do y’all was your truck? If you do, what wax do you use?

 

The waxy kind.

I use poorboys products because they smell nice and the name reminds me I'm not rich

 

I like the Turtle Wax Graphene Max Wax.

 

I use

Collinite 845 twice a year. In between the 2 Collinite waxes I use Pinnacle's Souveran Liquid Spray Wax.

 

Yes. I use Johnson Paste wax.

 

Interesting. Recall that being used on enamel painted cars.

And my folks using it on the hardwood floors in our bungalow. (AKA a small home in Fl)

 

Well, mine is a woody...

 

I used to be a wax snob on my other car. I used to clay, polish and wax it at least twice a year. But, this is going back to 2004 when ceramic coatings were just hitting the market. Now, I'm a believer! Leaves the paint SUPER SMOOTH and slick! Water beads off and it's easy to 'refresh' the coating. When we first got our 2021 4Runner, we got the front covered in Paint Protection Film and the rest of the truck coated with a nano-graphene coating very similar to ceramic coatings. Now, every time I wash my cars, I'll give it a once over with a ceramic detail spray-Technicians Choice TEC 582. Spray on a microfiber towel, apply and buff off with a clean microfiber.

I've gone down the rabbit hole detail wise. I use an Active VE52 pressure washer, MJJC V2 Foam Cannon, tons of microfibers from The Rag Company and an assortment of chemicals from Chemical Guys to Adams to Gyeon etc. I'm slowly moving to using mostly Adams. Their wheel and tire cleaner is awesome! The pressure washer and foam cannon make short work of washing a big SUV. Plus, the pressure washer is a must in a Karen-Rich environment where I live...California. I hate this stinking state sometimes. SHEESH!

 

Aero Cosmetics 3 times a year. Hand wash and spray the Aero directly on still damp vehicle. Massage in with damp microfiber towel and buff out by hand or orbital buffer with microfiber bonnet. 303 on wheels and side steps.

 

I take mine off-road. That would be overkill for me.

 

Instead of using your Johnsons *paste* wax, you could just use the ceramic detail spray. It would be TONS faster and help with getting all of the gunk and dirt off your car when you do wash it. A bottle of the ceramic detail spray isn't that expensive. You could just give it a whirl.

 

Ive been on the fence about ceramic coating this one. I typically just keep up w/ washes, clay, light polish and keep a good paste wax on it 3-4 times a year with a coat of basic liquid wax (chemical guys or adams, whatever's handy) on the hood and roof about every month. Just because I use it like a truck and it sees mild off roading isn't an excuse to not take care of it.

 

Wax doesn't last. Ceramics ftw.

Mine has never been waxed.

 

I waxed a truck once and that was not long after I got the 2G RC. There isn't much to wax there. That's about all the waxing I want to do.

 

This stuff is cheap easy to apply, and goes a long way. Makes the truck super shiny and keeps stuff like sap and tar from sticking. The next wash you will always thank yourself for coating it.

 

That's the same kind I use

 

Japanese paint is hot garbage, use Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze and for like $35 you will have enough to take care of your next truck as well.
All my homies hate ceramic coatings.
