    For those that have these:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071G7QD5T

What did you do about your rubber boot? The little control box definitely wont fit through, as is. Did you cut it? Leave the boot off completely?

Also, did you try to seal the electrical connection in some way? I can see maybe taping it up with electrical tape...but I can also imagine that might hold any moisture that would get in and make things worse.

I appreciate any thoughts on either situation...............

Detailed my taco yesterday. Couldn't take all the salt and road work dust anymore. Of course i was only going to do a quick wash since were supposed to get nothing but rain today... i just couldn't stop myself though.

I don't have that specific brand. Mine is by Lasfit but they're all the same. Where are you having trouble? The light fixture has this circular metal piece that I removed from the light fixture. Then I took the circular metal thing and clipped it in to the headlight then put the rubber boot on the headlight then inserted the light bulb in and turned it to lock into place. There's a different way to do it as well but I found this was the easiest after taking these light bulbs in and out a few times.. If you search on YouTube there's a number of people showing different ways to put these things together that might help.

Those. The little box on the left in the first picture...says Auxito on it. That wont go through the rubber headlight boot.

Sorry for the mix up....headlight....reverse light......ehhhh, whats the difference :) .

remove the collar, install in the wire, mount the boot, then install the LED thought the boot, and into the collar make sure that the LED is facing to the sides not top and bottom

As far as orientation, it can only go one way. The 3 tabs are where they are. And there's no way to install the bulb through the boot.

I'm thinking I'll just have to cut a spot in it for the wire and the little box to come through, then see how it goes.

Looks like you're going to have to reverse a mile back down the road and do that oil change!

i swear when i installed a set in a friends truck we were able to place the collar in the housing and then install the LED into the collar and lock it in place

    Pictures as promised.

Also spent some time today doing various little fixes.

Removed a broken front camera I had haphazardly installed years ago. It was a rear view camera from Amazon and I just had it plugged into my head unit. At some point it stopped working so I just got rid of it today.

Attempted to disable the TPMS light by disconnecting the TPMS receiver in the headliner in the back, but no luck.

Did a zip tie repair on the door lock indicator in the driver door. It had broken years ago and would just flop back and forth freely, so I took a zip tie and tried to attach it to the plastic hook on the back of the indicator. It currently works, but I doubt it'll last too long. Time will tell.

Troubleshot inoperative rear left window and determined it to be the rear switch, specifically the contacts being corroded, then had to jump it to get it to close again. For anyone who may need this information later: after unplugging the rear window switch, you have to jump the green/black to the blue, and the blue/black to the white simultaneously to make it roll up.

Well I'm gonna ride this one until either it dies or I do, so you won't have to worry about my hack jobs. I've been negligent on a lot of things with this truck and I'm trying to turn over a new leaf in that regard. Been catching up on some of the maintenance stuff I'd been putting off and it feels good to do it. Eventually I'll probably do a proper fix for the door lock indicator, but it's more cosmetic than functional for me so I'll see how the zip tie does. I have a feeling I'll be doing wheel bearings before too long.

How many miles on your 3rd gen when you replaced them? Is there any notable differences in mileage between the two gens before wheel bearings go out?

Replaced the DC motors to the driver and rear passenger door actuators. It took several attempts to align the pieces of the actuator correctly, but I eventually got it to function properly.

I'm currently sitting at the dealership, my window run channel decided it no longer wanted to exist and my drivers window is all bound up in the door now. I would attempt this myself, but I have zero free time this week. My family and the taco are taking a 2,000 mile round trip road trip starting this Saturday, and just in case i should need to put my window down, i figured i should get it fixed ASAP.
