Show Your Sunrise & Sunset Pics!!!

Camping in western AZ a week ago, spectacular weather.

 

Joshua Tree sunset. This day was a beautiful day. Really nice weather for camping.

There I was, scrambling on the coastal cliffs, looking for the evening shot.
When suddenly a circle of vultures, traveling in a northerly direction along the coastline came into view.

Throw the pack on the ground, yank out the camera, press the viewfinder to the eye and make a composition. Not just a photo of birds in the sky, but try to work the birds into a landscape composition.

Of course, the settings on the camera were leftover from the evening before. 2 second timer and mirror lockup! Yay. No time to change camera settings.

Make the comp. Click the shutter and stare into a dark view finder for two seconds while holding the camera still.
What I got was terribly underexposed captures.

Maybe one day I’ll learn how to process..

The vultures came in low over my head for this shot. The wide angle lens makes them look further away, but I heard the air rushing over the wings as they passed overhead.

I probably would have had better luck using the cell phone for these photos.

 

How about a good moonrise and some northern lights.
