Awww....though I guess it makes sense especially since he's probably profiting off the content. Lawsuit territory

    Nooo

She's a real sweetheart but the goal was never for us to get a second pooch

Just giving her a happy temp home outside of what would've been a full shelter, or living outdoors

Animal control had said she was called in on and left wandering for 3-4 days before finally grabbing her off the streets

    Their shelter is full still

Understandable, I'm in the same boat. I like this dude but there's a family out there that's right for him.

Worst part is, if we did keep her, we wouldn't make the deadline for all her shots + spay by Theo's trip to Legoland.

She wouldn't qualify to stay at a pet hotel as they always request all those docs. Biscuit's always up to date on her stuff.

    Which one you fostering now?

So after that whole ordeal starting in October last year when our landlord, after 7 years, told us we had 60 days to vacate our rental house because he needed to "renovate and list it to sell asap" ....we find out it's back on the rental market last week for just a few hundred more dollars per month than what we were paying

We had outgrown it and had been looking at options for a bit, but still...the rush to pack up and vacate while simultaneously looking to buy our first home within 60 days right before the holidays with two little kids was a fucking undertaking to say the least.

I think he probably realized how much real work that 100 year old house would have needed to make it sellable, for what he was looking for at least.

After that giant firestorm getting anything inspected or insured could be a nightmare too it might just not be a great market

I think he's black lab and Great Dane or maybe some other large breed because he has the droopy features of one of those goofy big breeds. Plus he doesn't have the giant crease down the center of his head that a pitbull would have. He is just a big doofus though.

I'll give it to the end of your policy... A lot of people around here after the fire that was in medical lake are just having there coverage revoked

We have our insurance through the CA Fair Plan, the state sponsored one (which has it's own drawbacks of course, but it can't be revoked considering it was put into place due to the private companies pulling out).

There was only one private company willing to insure our house when we were buying it, and they wanted $15,000/year

We are in the foothills as big as a risk area as an insurance company can fathom...but it is a new development with all precautions put into place. All houses have indoor sprinkler systems, stucco build, concrete roofing, K rails and fire road/fire breaks around the entire community, etc. But that hardly matters to them.

I heard at lunch about a guy who was killed by a neighbor's two dogs. The dogs had been trained to fight. The owner is now in prison.

I love dogs; my husband does too but it took forever to convince him to get our first one. For good reasons of course, mostly because we wouldn't have been home enough. Ended up getting a second sometime into COVID and I swear sometimes he even sorta wants to bring home a 3rd when we see pups at the pop up adoptions.

I feel like I'd love to foster when I maybe don't have to work anymore; though I'm always afraid I'll get too attached and have 100000 dogs.

That's how it was for us, my wife wanted a dog from day one when we moved in together while dating..but I was always pushing back. We had 3 cats at the time and a small house...then a kid...I just didn't want the extra work involved

Then we got Dex and now she wants another because Dex is "my dog" lol.

ummm YES. See, that's the problem....

Yuuup; our first, Ellie, is my dog too -- deff her mommas girl. Part because I picked her with hubs on face time and partially because we literally did everything together when I first got her -- so we're ATTACHED. Second dog was intended to be more hubs dog. He really is for the most part but loves me because I insisted we keep him even after all the bite incidents we've been through. We still haven't sorted him -- but he's on doggie prozac and I best knock on wood - we haven't had blood in awhile...
