I'll be doing brakes on Sunday morning. Hopefully it ends up being nice out!

I've yet to change my brakes.
Idk how long they should last but 50k miles and 7yrs later, there's still 5mm on the pads.

What the Fruck is a raise? Since the Walker gutting we don't even get cost of living adjustments... This is why its hard to get teachers. They can make more bartending than dealing with all the BS at school. To put it in perspective I make as much now as I did when I started 25 years ago... and about what I did as a tradesman in 1987. Should have stayed in the trades-but I am sure my knees feel better about my choices.

The brakes on my 2015 Taco were original when I traded it in with 102K miles. I was pretty impressed!

The rears on the 4Runner went around 75K, and I did the fronts shortly thereafter just to get it done. They still had some life in them. To be fair, the 4Runner is hauling a lot of extra weight, and both sets of tires are oversized.

I used aftermarket pads. Power Stop. They seem to perform very well, but didn't quite have the longevity of the OEM pads. I didn't notice the squealers, so now I have to do a rotor, also.

    Don't get me started.
We pay (on our property tax) for the Tech School and for the UW. Is that normal? To pay taxes for schools that are privately funded? irritating.
I'd rather put that towards the public school system, where we actually have a kid attending.

Yes, your knees should thank you! I already know two guys who have had their knees done in their 50s. And, best I can tell, I am on course for the same.

Changed my rotors and pads at ~75,000. Stock versions were solid, so I went with them again. Advics rotors and Akebono pads, bought at RockAuto.

My truck has gone through a lot of changes in the last 10k miles.
Another 25k miles and I'll be ready for BIG brakes! :D

Want to know what smells worse than the rotting corpse of a camel and muskrat combined?....

    Gear Oil

I disagree! Gear oil smells awful but I would much prefer that or the smell of rotting corpse

Pat if you don't have another buyer lined up I'll take it off your hands. Having seen the Iron man unit in Arkansas I know how nice it is.

I don't mind gear oil smell. Can't stand the smell of Amsoil though. Makes me sneeze and my eyes itch. Some of those inks and cleaners you printers use smell pretty awful.

Yeah the chemicals used in the printing process suck. That's why I'm in a department that avoids working with any solvents/inks.
