2006 Tacoma 1GR-FE Engine Swap

Did you check the fuel pressure with the fuel pump resistor bypassed?
The first video of the fuel pressure gauge looks like the pressure is steadily falling while it’s trying to run.

 

I did not. I don't think I allowed time for pressure to build. After some time, I took the second video & the pressure stayed within specs.

 

Do you still have access to the old engine? Maybe swap in your old throttle body? I'm no expert on the 1GR-FE because my truck has always worked perfectly (knock on wood). I would suspect an Idle Air Control Valve but I'm not sure with the 1GR has those. I believe they do have something called an Intake Air Control Valve. Maybe check the connections to that?

 

It does not have any Idle Air Control valve.

How old is the gas in the tank???

 

The tank is original, 2006. Ima drop it again, thoroughly clean it, and fill with 93. Should I consider cleaning out the vacuum canister?

Oh fawk mate. That fuel is from 2006, and it is now 2025?!?!?!?!

Yeah. You need to dump that ASAP. That fuel is separated.

 

LOL, sorry doing too many things at once! It's from last fall, Oct I think.

 

We may have just solved the problem.

 

Even still. With the ethanol blends in the fuel, it could still be separated and you're getting more water than fuel mixture.

Update, as soon as it warms up, it starts it’s old ways again it will not idle properly.

 

Truly at a loss now…

 

The only thing I have left is removal of the manifolds to test for a clogged catalytic converter. I only disconnected them from the Y pipe. There was no change in issue.

If it was bad gas could there still be bad gas in the system? One error code, "too lean bank 1" showed up but it did not stick.

 

So from a cold start, as in sitting a few hours, it will idle on its own now?

Also, you got rid of the old gas?

 

Almost sounds like when it goes to Closed Loop you have an issue?
Nice to see what those A/F / O2 Sensors are doing.
