We are union, I do have the first right of refusal .
I'm the foreman, so whoever takes it will add more stress on me trying to communicate that 1.5 hr front and back. If I take it I'll get less OT I the mornings when we start at 3 30, but traffic will be sweet at end of day.

 

isn’t the shifts and start times built into your contract? Our work recently tried to change our start time and we simply didn’t agree to it and kept showing up at the previous negotiated time. They can’t fire everyone, power in numbers

 

With 72 hr notice they have the right to change a shift , as per seniority. Has to be guaranteed 40 and 2 consecutive days off.

For me, first shift is 7-330 but depending on need that can sway an hour either way, just need to give a heads up.

 

I'm scheduled 5am to 3pm 4 days a week. I honestly don't think I could go back to 5 days...

I got to pick up road line tape it’s the tape they use for when they are working on roads to make new lanes and don’t want to paint

we broke down 20 minutes into kill today. Danny welded the equipment back together and it was peaceful since.

Brought home 30lbs of ribeyes.

 

Same here with a two week notice. Our shifts are negotiated @ the local level and we have alternate work schedules, AWS, again negotiated @ the local level. Management has stopped most ot except call ins. Vacant positions, no ot, equipment is suffering, stuff gonna fail and I'm gonna bail....

 

Very frustrating front our perspective, but alot of this is out of our hands and perhaps we have to let things fail so management can see. IDK
