Yesterday, I went to the dealership to get total price for everything...more than I had originally been quoted for All shocks!

But, I'm glad I got a decent Bonus from work and a compensation pay raise.

Now, I just have to smooth things over with the wife about the money I set aside for my truck. lol

 

Dang, sorry to hear that. Would it be cheaper to not buy them and get a 5100 Kit.

 

I'm gonna move forward and not let it discourage me.

Install date is April 1st which is also my USAF Enlistment/Retirement Date...so it's a celebration gift for me!

Busy day

 

Busy rest of the week.

I just have to get through the duty day...lol!

It's not that bad...this job is very enjoyable because I interact with Air Force personnel (our customer) as well as internally with Boeing.

I'm within 5 miles of the base so I don't put more than 15 miles on my truck per day on a busy errand day--otherwise, 10 miles if I go straight home.

 

I envy that commute!

 

I figured.

Both my co-workers live nearly 20 miles one-way to work.

I do get my Sport to highway speed on my travels!

Reviewing my upcoming TRD Suspension Kit Upgrade next month at Dealership.

The reason I'm going this route is simply for my own piece of mind, (any problems and I bring back to dealership) because I have the money set aside, AND...it's my Air Force Anniversary Gift to me.

Price did increase from initial quote of $395 for 4 Shocks to $612.96.

I was told, shocks are now sold individually. Here's the breakdown of all components:

PTR13-35210-FR Front Shocks $159.99 X 2 = $319.98
PTR13-35210-RR Rear Shocks $149.99 X 2 = $299.98
90117-14011 U-Bolts $58.04 X 4 = $232.16
PT595-35220 Parking Brake Cable $41.00 X 1 = $41.00
PT82A-35210 Rr Leaf Spacer $11.98 X 2 = $23.96
Total........................................................................$917.08



Labor is $209/hr and this is slated as a 6hr job (5hr for front/1hr for rear).

Like I mentioned, my work bonus will be used to pay for labor...and I've saved up for the parts.

Is there a good Offroad shop in the area? I need someone else to work on my vehicle besides mainline overland. They charge way too much for shop labor

My "Street Princess" gets her nails done at the Dealership...lol

Well, let me elaborate...I change the oil every 5K miles on Dover AFB Auto Hobby Shop.

I schedule tire rotation and 20-point inspection every 6 months at dealership.

My scheduled TRD Suspension upgrade is going to be done at the dealership...their hourly labor is $209.

This will likely be my only expense for such an upgrade so I will "Cry Once" but I will be happy on my Air Force Anniversary day.

First State National Park Visitors center is open to the public again. They’re in Historic Old New Castle at the sheriffs house. They did a really good job turning it into a visitors center. They haven’t had a lot of foot traffic activity lately probably due to the weather but they’re open 8-4 Thursday Friday Saturday.

they’re planning some events for the warmer months. I think they’re trying to come up with some sort of escape room activity or something interactive highlighting one of the breakouts that occurred on site in the 1800s
