Yesterday was the first day in the 50s we've had since I installed the SC, 20-30 for the most part. I was cruising at about 75, so not a hard pull. This morning it was in the 50s again and I was just driving country roads, in traffic at ~60MPH and the IAT was in the 70s.

Any updates or thoughts on the 84mm tune? I heard that you weren't going to release it, but I was just wondering if your plans might have changed? Thanks!

Yes, the pulley you linked is the one. You do not need a shorter belt, original is fine

That’s still pretty good. It’s not gonna get much better than that unless you plan on snowing it with meth.

My first thought would be the bypass actuator. Since that controls boost entering the engine.

Hey guys, does anyone here have a good recommendation for clutch upgrade while running the Magnuson Super Charger? I know Centerfrorce and Clutch Masters make decent kits, but just curious what some of you with a Manual Trans and a Super Charger have found for a solid clutch upgrade. Thanks!

Boost is totally mechanical: butterfly valve and vacuum actuator. lube the shaft, mine was sticky from the start, also there are mixed opinions, but I suggest that the screws that hold the vacuum actuator to the SC are slotted, and you can loosen them, and rotate to adjust the fully closed position of the butterfly. If I understand correctly, it should not actually close to where the valve touches, but you want it as close as possible without touching. Mine was open a bit, and I adjusted it to just barely touch. Use a vacuum pump and see what vacuum is needed to open it. it is spring closed. This is a bypass, so closed is boost, open allows SC compressed air to feed back to the intake side of the SC pump (re-circulates).

In order to loose boost: you either have enough vacuum to open the bypass, meaning you lifted your foot. Or else the belt is slipping; not common on these trucks. I cannot think of any other way to loose boost. The ECM has no role in controlling boost.

Sorry, no idea of a repair shop.

Does the Magnuson replace the stock intake entirely, removing the weak plastic ACIS flap?

Yep, that's definitely a use case for it as the damage caused by a failure could potentially exceed the cost of the supercharger

The failure of the acis flap is more of an expensive nuisance than anything. It doesn’t cause damage. It puts you in limp mode, and gives you a headache of fishing the piece that falls apart out of the intake valve runner. And of course requires you to spend money on a new intake manifold. It doesn’t cause damage otherwise, the piece that falls down in is too big as there had been no evidence of it ever making it into the cylinder in any of the cases posted here.

I've seen a few reports of the metal sleeve getting dislodged and then stuck in the valves, causing scoring or worse.

It doesn’t get “stuck”, it falls down and sits on top of the valve it lands on until removed.

    Gang,
I was wondering if any of you with the Maggie have Dyno the truck in order to tweak and optimize the tune you have from the different tune vendors? Here is my situation - I have the OTT tune on medium (I guess), I'm mostly stock, really , I am running 488's on gears. K02's - 33's. Some rock sliders by RCI, oh, and the FOX2.5 suspension with DSC. That is it. Pretty stock isn't it.

Anyway, so I'm pretty happy with the OTT tune but every now and then I don't feel the juice in the high band (over 60mph), the truck goes fast (to me) at the beginning when starting from 5mph to about 20mph, so it is very much front loaded in my opinion, but once is up there in the 60's, it just stays and I really I have to get on it. So.....I was wondering, and maybe not, is it worth Dyno this thing and try to optimize the Tune a little more? or don't bother and just take as it is.
Taco in west houston.jpg stock looking really

I'm voting yes on the stock (sleeper) look! Plus, the background photo belongs here :cookiemonster:

Same mechanical setup and it does run out of steam in the higher speeds. I do attribute some of that to our exhaust (2 cats). Crossover pipe. Maybe I'm wrong.
