I keep watching different FJR owners from different areas trying Lithium batteries but the only ones I seem to hear being really impressed are those in more temperate climates or who don't ride in low temps. I figure I'll let someone else be the guinea pig.

Finally got a ride in for 2025, fresh oil change and chain clean.

I topped off with 87 octane before storage and man do you feel it.

I rode for 45 minutes and it barely used 10% of my fuel, stupid 250, I'm gonna wring it out tomorrow.

    Yeah, I get it.

My CB750 was six or seven years on it's lifepo4 battery, I think a Shorai, granted that one didn't get ridden much. Popped it on a charger for a day every six months or so just in case. I think 5 years on the one in the F800GS, riding throughout the year, including surviving two stators going out. That one is an Antigravity. The grom's had one for two years, and the 701SM got one a couple months ago. Oh, and I have one more waiting to go into the CT90 whenever I get that project underway. The last 3 are all the NOCO's. I'm a believer, clearly.

That sucks but doesn’t look bad enough to replace. Looks like you just gouged the rim protector of the tire and didn’t really get into the actual sidewall.

New battery in the 2014 FJR but bitch of a time getting it started. I guess from previous unsuccessful starting attempts I had it flooded really bad. Finally got it fired up and it smoked like crazy at first but eventually cleared up. Reset the clock for the time change while I was working on it. Gearing up and test ride next.

Really want to ride an FJR, they seem a tad small for me, but I bet its a damn missile at highway speeds. They were on my list but I sat on a few varying years and it just doesnt work for me.

I think it’s time to build a powder coating oven. The standard kitchen oven works ok but it would be nice to do larger pieces and also hang them up. I can use the heating elements and controls out of the oven I have and build an insulated cabinet. If I bought all the metal It would cost about $600 total. I am going to talk with my old boss and see about getting some scrap metal studs for free. Also maybe some rock wool insulation. That would save a couple hundred. Then I would just buy sheet metal for the interior and exterior. I think I can use the oven door window and frame it jnto the new door.
I have a plan written out on paper so we will see how it goes. It will be 3’ wide 3’ deep and 4’ high. Might build a stand with wheels to move it around easy and get it up off the ground to make it easy to load parts.

Crazy how "basic " it is. No ceramic tiles, or double wall insulation. Just a file cabinet with some insulation and half an oven

just a couple of things tbh
The bolts headlight will not turn on with key on. But the gf's XR will and my old klx400 will. My current klx won't be cause it's lights are on an aftermarket switch lol.
