What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

The operative word was cheap. I would not need 4x4 for the stuff I would be doing. Maybe just a set of AT tires and worry about the interior living amenities, roof rack, awning, and that'd be it.

 

Totally understand sir. I do the same evaluation yearly. I feel exactly the same. The money you pay for insurance could have purchased a small vacation cottage, put a kid through community college, or paid your house off 10 years early.

Instead... We pay to live in fear of actually having to use insurance... God forbid we actually put a claim in and ask for money back from the thing we pay into monthly for 40 years.

I feel you .. I'm sick of pinching pennies. And paying for things that I can never use or benefit from.

Went out there for my son's basic training graduation a while back, we were all very underwhelmed at the city. It was not what I expected. I suppose since we are right outside of Philadelphia that we were all expecting something similar. It was certainly nice and clean, just didn't seem like a city. Certainly felt like a tourist trap in a way

 

I'm a dog person overall and have had many over the years, including a malamute/wolf (big puppy lol), but the pitty's hold a special place in my heart, love the bread... I see some Tiger Stripes on your boy... I had a red nose w/ ghost tiger stripes a while back, went everywhere with me... Now my 2yo blue nose is my ride a long....

 

I put on some ditch lights…. Still gotta wire them, that is mostly quick though, once I get to it.

Oh, we're talking about San Antonio (SA) now?

We lived in Abilene in the early 90s for 5+ years and visited my my grandparents in SA.

We did the River Walk and Alamo and other things I'm sure I've forgotten about. lol

Heck, when we got to Dover in 2006, all we could talk about was visiting Philly.

Our family has benefited from my USAF career and getting assignments to different parts of the world.

Those look thin and are aluminum. Sometimes cheap is cheap. I told myself I didn't need ditch lights...except that my Auxbeam had an open slot and someone put a used pair up in the BST thread cheap. Now I see deer before they decide to get a rush by running in front of me.

 

Added a 4x4 Deer Skull to the SR.

Today the tacoma was my work bench.
Replaced the Radiator in the dodge.

 

My son changed the oil and oil filter + drain plug gasket today, I'm on the 5,000 mile or 6 months, whichever comes 1st maintenance schedule, sooo just changed the oil with 1,300 miles on it @ 6 months...

Also installed the LED tag lights, will have to wait until dark to see if it has a glare or not... Finally installed the tailgate mat also...

 

Sold the SnugTop to a Boulderite this past Tuesday. Took a quick pic today to mark the occasion of the Taco being TopperLess. Now the fun begins on what to do next with all that open bed space.

 

Installed a Start-X remote starter and

$14 Philips 12361B1 H9 Standard Halogen Replacement Headlight Bulb, 1 Pack

Philips 12361B1 H9 low-beam halogen headlight bulbs. Ordered a new lock cylinder for the tailgate as mine is a 2016 and came with the separate tailgate but since I bought it used I wasn't lucky enough to have the key included. I am considering the autolocking tailgate option as well, looks like a slick way to make sure the bed of the truck is always secured.

 

Pieced together a phone mount. Installed the Course Motorsports bracket with a 1 inch ball that mounts from behind the head unit using the existing bolts. Went with a Quad Lock mounting head with a 1 inch ball adaptor Quad Lock mounting head coupled with The Taco Garage 1 inch mount arm which I like cuz its supper stubby.

 

I’ve got dog and human versions. My dog wears his 6 months out of the year when I hang out with my next door neighbor every night with our pups in the woods.

Found my old Tacoma world koozie buried in my tool box. Got this one years ago when I had my 2nd gen. It’s got magnets on it so it’s stays ready behind the tailgate

 

Gave it the driveway bucket and hose treatment.
