Anybody have any mechanics they can recommend in the KC area? I just want to replace factory shocks with similar, just remove and replace (no lift). Dealership is quoting $1100 just for labor.

 

Factory shocks can be replaced in like 2 hours in your driveway. Even better with a friend or two.

No need to pay a shop or worse yet, pay a dealership with no clue about aftermarket anything.

The body shop promised to make it as good as new! So keeping my fingers crossed!

Are you able to work on your own stuff, and own a jack, jackstands, wrench and ratchet set? Then you can DIY in your driveway or garage super simple. It's like 4 bolts. Then drop the 2 from the bottom of the spindle and lower the LCA to get it out.

 

Do you even remember what you had for breakfast?

3 bolts.

Unless you count the tie rod bolt/cotter pin.

Then it's 4.

I know this is a long shot but do any of you have, or know someone that has, a 2005-2015 Tacoma that they are parting out? I'm looking for a hood with scoop, grill, grill shroud, and bumper cover all from a 2012-2015 and a left fender, left fender apron, and radiator support (or one that is trashed that still has a non-mangled top section that goes over the driver's headlight that I can just cut and reweld to mine) from 2005-2015? I just purchased my dream truck (2.5 gen, 2013 in this case) with only 84k from Washington state (no rust) but it's a salvage and needs some front end work.
