It'll cost way more to pay him for his time than an already put together bumper lol. WIY kits typically only make sense for someone with the tools and know how, and even then it takes a ton of time (although Jack does make a sick bumper if you're looking :D)

What Matt said is normally correct from the normal bumper kit company but that Pelfrey bumper has a pretty smart design. If your handy with a flapwheel and I only need to do the prep, fitup, and finial weld I would estimate it would be around $200. Could be more, could be less.

If you want me to do all the grinding just buy a finished one. Remember tube is cooler and lighter.

Coastal is $700 and I do not believe they press brake anything so there is probably 3-4X more welding involved.

For a rear bumper what are you lookin for for features?

Honestly, mainly something sturdy for anti-idiots on the roads. Would like to keep a hitch. I am also more of a fan of plate rear bumpers for some reason. High clearance isn’t necessary. That’s all I can think of at the moment.

That Pelfrey doesn't keep the stock hitch and I dont think we could make it keep it. I built this for a coworker last year that basically meets those.

Edit might have misread. Do you want a hitch? Or the oem toyota hitch?

Any hitch is good. Ideally strong enough to be similar to OEM strength. I'd need to think about which way I would want to go with it.

I had no idea a more recent thread was around for it. I might want to help out Jerry by clearing some of his floor space… I might get it and hold onto it for a while before we can get it on. Or just until I get rear ended by some buffoon.

you think you could do one of those rear bumpers you make with tabs for the parking sensors?

might sell my bumper for something lighter//no rear swing out since it’s kind of a pain sometimes. Not sure though, I did really love it over the summer so if I did swap them out it wouldn’t be til fall I think to be sure

I can make tabs for parking sensors but I can’t guarantee they will work like oem. Or course we would just work together on getting it to work correct.

After flatbed I’m selling mine to @BostonBaja and I think he wants swingouts. So that’s a possibility. I’d make them removable so that may work great for you.
