Doesn't look anywhere near as capable as what you have. We stopped at the Toyota dealer Saturday and you know, even a Pro looks whimpy compared to the Ute... We may be the proud owners of a 2016 Highlander soon. 45k. Arizona rig. Unicorn...

I didn't even drive it. I just wanted to see one in person. It's not as bad as it looks in the pictures. But I don't love it. You don't really notice that the wheelbase is longer or that it's much bigger than the 5th gen. But, oddly, the back seats look smaller (legroom).

Yeah, I've said the same. Knees are at least 80. Maturity level: age 30 (14 when it comes to my sense of humor).

Yeah, I'm not interested. Just curious. I want to keep the '19 so I can get something sporty in a few years.

I'm a big fan of the Highlander. If it weren't for the off-roading aspect of my lifestyle, that's most likely what I'd be driving. Post pictures when you get it!

Big box o coffee came from Arizona today. Exciting! Also a filter for that secondary SecOndGenBestGen air thingy. Realized I haven't changed mine in about 70k and the discussion a few days ago got me thinking I should. So now I will. Need to HardOn my skid plate too. And finish my skid plate. And, and fuckin and. Never seems to end. But I got coffee and that is good.

The only unicorn thing about a 2016 Highlander is a leaking water pump. Not an inherently complex job, but there are certain steps that need to be taken if yours starts leaking or starts showing pink crust.

Other than that the Highlander is a phenomenal platform in the grand Highlander even more so.

Some dude showed up to a Wheeling event here in STL in a Highlander. I forget what size tires he had but he had full overland kit and very aggressive at tires and his wheels look like Black Rhino knockoffs.

His picture's around somewhere but basically after that we had to implement a hard rule that you have to have a two-speed transfer case with true 4lo to be able to go on our trail rides.

The biggest problem with taking a Highlander off-road is if you so much as look at something sideways your side impact sensors will go off. Your airbags will go off and a car will go into limp mode. And then someone will have to drag your ass off the trail.

Cuz essentially the Highlander is what happened when a sienna and a Camry went off and had a baby together

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
It was nice to work out in the driveway today in a t-shirt.

Pat @pearing, do you have a pic of your adapter on your hi-lift by chance? I'm making one for mine, but I was hoping for a reference.

I don't think that is one of them... I don't know what the plastic has for tensile strength, sheer strength etc. but I don't know that I want to be finding out when things have gone south enough to need a HiLift...

Yes I kind of went off on a tangent there. Lol

Super solid, super safe, super efficient and super reliable. The Highlander does it all. And if you really really need an SUV to go off-road well that's why the 4Runner exists. Lol

Did that oil change Sunday and the truck just seems to be riding much more pleasantly, especially at freeway speeds. Tweaking the position of the skid plates seems to have helped with some mild vibrations. I love accidental improvements. Now to get to KenTWucky25 and tweak those skids again!
