I guess I’m just comparing my Tacoma to my wife’s raptor width wise. It’s significantly wider than the raptor. No doubt a well smaller well tuned kit would beat the shit out of the raptor. It’s not very good honestly. Not as good as everyone likes to believe

Yeah. Truthfully I think a well tuned mid travel would likely put a hurting on a stock raptor. The only thing they really have that we don’t is more power. Lots of guys talk big about them but I’ve never been all that impressed.

But I’m sure I would enjoy the hell out of an R.

I put L84’s and kings on our raptor, and it’s WAY better than a stock raptor, but my Tacoma still shits on it, not even close. The raptor still gaps the hell out of the Tacoma though, even with the LS. Honestly I think a stock Tacoma would gap my truck. 4 speed feels so slow lol.

I want an R, but the cheapest R in the country is like 105k with 50k miles on it. Hard pass lol

Did the alu box/ cradle come with the base kit?
I’m also curious how far forward the frame boxing parts extend compared to some of the others like dirt king and DMZ if you could share some more photos or elaborate! It seems “short” in the drawing on the site.

We have an R bombing around here in the salt and all. Makes me kinda want to cry. Then I remember, it’s just a ford.

Yeah they’re not exactly reliable. The R is gonna be way more reliable than the regular raptor though. Weak spot is that 10 speed

The ford I want is that ford performance baja race truck. Probably zero parts compatibility with the street bronco, but yeah.

The only thing Ford in that thing might be a Ford based engine, a hand full of stickers and who wrote the check.

Ooof, I do not want that. I want the advantage of a tacoma that's narrow.

Yes, they have way more power than tacoma, I start to hit less brakes to maintain the speed more.
My close friend's 2019 had cam phaser fixed, 2nd transmission put in with about 45k on the odo, he got a gen 3 now so far so good, their ACC make long drive so much better tho. another friend with a 2020 Mustang MT82, 10k miles also new transmission. I just heard from another friend last week in Denver has his 2020 raptor crackshaft snapped somehow (most likely didn't fix the phaser in time).

+3.5 is gonna put you around 91-93
+4.5 is gonna put you closer to 95ish
Your avg Chevy or raptor kit stays around 91…
    Tacomas are weird like that

Imo a 3.5" kit doesn't make your truck that much wider. Your mirrors will still be the widest part of the truck haha

Unless you have a lot of back spacing or running spacers on top of a 3.5" kit it's really not that wide

You’re forgetting that for a +4.5 kit, you’re typically running +6” glass in the front

the amount of people i have to constantly explain that to on the east coast is annoying.

"I don't want LT because i want to be able to fit on the tight trails"
well, that wrangler on 9 foot wide Rockwell axles just made easy work of it....

turns out this was not the appropriate obstacle to hit going fast. truck handled it fine, but definitely put the harnesses to the test.
