I removed my passenger rear seat several years back and made a clean plywood platform for my fridge to strap down to and ride there.

I mounted the charger unit underneath the platform all tucked up nice and tight.

The only part of my entire 800 watt charging system that can be seen easily, are the connections to the truck battery terminals and the end of the cable to the Delta 2.

Does the wire reach from the engine bay to the bed of the truck?

Depending on how you route it, Yes. I ran it from the bed under the belly and to the battery with no issues.

Plan would be to run it from the engine bay under the cab and then up between the cab/bed

Finally got my alternator charger doing install soon. How did you guys terminate on the battery? My negative battery terminal doesn’t have a spot to add accessories on my 3rd gen. Should I attach to ground wire connected to the chassis? Can I just slide it into bolt that holds clamp on terminal down? Advanced thanks for the responses and feedback!

I missed out on that issue, as I already swapped out my factory crap battery for a larger Full Throttle AGM battery. This battery has both the normal battery posts and studs like a Deep Cycle battery would have. I just used the studs.

In your case, you could swap out the factory battery post clamps with aftermarket ones that have several accessory bolts on them.

You should connect positive fuse wire to positive battery post, and the negative wire goes to the factory chassis ground.

Also just sharing my research here, I read the manual and there is no guidance whatsoever for what the low voltage disconnect should be set to in the ecoflow app, this would be based on your vehicle…

Initially I had this set to default 13v and it charged the ecoflow battery very well but I did get an error message in the app indicating I should adjust this voltage setting to match my vehicle.

Essentially the factory lead-acid battery would be considered fully charged and ready to start the truck within a range of 12.6-12.8 volts. Much lower than 12.6 and you potentially risk dropping your start battery a little on the low side.
So when I first hooked the system up and it was set to 13v, that is a very “conservative” setting and would only charge the ecoflow when start battery voltage is above 13v.
However for me, so far, it has been charging very well at that setting so I may decide to play it “safe” and leave it as is.

if I find that the alternator charger isn’t keeping the ecoflow topped up sufficiently I may consider dropping the low voltage disconnect in the app to below 13v but at the moment I see no real need, and intend to ignore the warning message in the app…

I was also considering lowering the max charging wattage setting from 800w, to a lower setting to limit the max load on the vehicle alternator. The guys on the Sprinter forums do have some threads indicating standard alternators are generally not built to handle excessive constant high charging loads, but I didn’t find anything Tacoma-specific online yet where anyone reported issue of that nature.

if anyone else has installed and had different experience or other Tacoma alternator/battery specific information, please share!
