How are you liking these? Do they do anything for the spray?

They do a good job of protecting that area of the paint for sure. I went with these because I've always thought full mudflaps in front of running boards looks terrible. I haven't taken the rear flaps off to see if those are also damaged, but if they are, I might do these in the rear too. They obviously won't provide much rock protection to those behind me, but they also don't look as ugly as full mudflaps either. I wish Ark made the same style of full flaps as they do for the 4th gen. They look much better than the ones they make for the 3rd gen.

You couldn't pay me to have black wheels, from 20 ft away they look like black holes and can't see any detail on the wheels

As I understand it, 2020 and later driveshafts are sealed and so there are no greasable zerks.

How did you mount the traction boards to the back of the bed as shown? Looks pretty low profile which I like, and it looks like it works with a tonneau - I'm looking for an option like this. Thanks.

ARP extended studs (not installed yet), Optima Red Top, Siless Insulation in cab. Diode Dynamics LEDs throughout... More titanium fasteners. K&N intake snorkus delete. Greddy hose clamps throughout. DBA 4000XS Brake Rotors. TRD PRO fogs. Dakine Tail Gate Pad. More to come of course.
They are worthless for water/mud. I have not noticed any significant rock sounds (dings and bonks and such) though. They look cool. I'll leave em on. Because ricer forever.

I do wish they would cover a bit more. If ARK releases a new revision, I will buy it.

Yes Ed, knowing you I thought E-rated tires would make for a miserable experience. If you off-roaded, then for sure consider all options. Even E-load tires. But if you're like me and daily commute your truck, spend 95% of your time on road, then SL will be ideal for you.

Anyhow, after 1 year (2021) I diched my OEM Firestone Destination LE 2's highway tires for a set of Toyo Open Country A/T 3's in SL. My very first set of A/T tires, ever. Prior to that, I was a Michelin Defender tire purchaser for 30 years.

Went one size up from stock to 265/70R17 with the OEM sport wheels. No rub or fitment issues. Loved the looks and took about a 1mpg hit. For the light off roading I do they were great. They have proven easy to live with as a daily driver. Great on long distant summer road trips too.

Living in the PNW wet weather traction was a must. Along with snowy conditions. They have been great in that regard. Only down side is that they do wear a little fast. But that is the compromise for a softer rubber/deep siping providing good wet traction. They are down to 6/32nd - 7/32nd. I'm looking to replace them this fall after 4 years. Haven't decided what to replace them with yet.

If they made the micros a little longer, they’d look awesome. Still not as protective, but for the looks, it’d be worth it to me.

I feel like they should cover more of the unseen and prevent so much shit from going in the rear bumper.

LOVE THAT SET UP! Did you have to lower the Accessory Rail back there? Looks like it runs lower than mine.
I like the idea of Traction Boards but haven't needed them yet. Not sure I ever will.
My Hard Top Tonneau cover is kinda like yours but the last panel never flips up. I wish I had a tool / storage box up under there on rails that would slide back out from under the fixed Tonneau cover. You inspired me - might fab something up. We'll see.

I do love a good shorter more flexible mud flap. I also have a piece of plastic behing the rear wheels that has a little wing on it. Wish that wing was a little bigger. Been looking at flaps for a while. Looks like I'll have to look at these.

I keep telling people that Silicone blades are THE way to go. Full silicone like all of the baking stuff your wife has in the kitchen, or just silicone impregnated / coated - it's all better than standard rubber blades.

Thanks. The install for the cover was to lower the factory bed rail.

Fr pass door handle replace, Tyger step rails and soft bed cover, DDSS3 fogs, TRD skid, OR front tow hook, SokieTech hood struts, fr seat covers (neoprene), metal oil filter housing, magnetic oil plug, Cyclone under hood lights, Blue Sea Systems 5025 Fuse Block ST Blade 6 Circuit with Ground and Cover, Blue Sea Systems 60A DC Panel Mount circuit breaker.
I noticed what looks like some soot or a collection of dry black shmutz in the red outlined part where the transmission housing meets the engine, right next to the oil pan- It looked like the spot in blue outlining before I wiped it off; thought I would clean it off so that I can pop down there and monitor periodically. Looks normal-ish, dry, and more like airborne particles collecting than dried liquid, but do you all see any cause for concern, leak-wise? I didn’t pop off the clip and check the main seal yet- didn’t really see a need at this point.

    Thanks in advance!

Zoomed out for orientation. Full disclosure: This image was pulled off of the Caliraisedled website from https://caliraisedled.com/products/catalytic-converter-shield-for-2016-2023-toyota-tacoma; an image for their cat shields. Was the first picture that came to mind that clearly showed the joint between trans and engine.

2018 4WD Sport, ODO 24350 and just before my 2 yrs new vehicle warranty was up I noticed oil drops, not soot or a collection of dry black shmutz, forming in that area. Local dealer replaced the rear main oil seal.
