Unique Dash Cam Question

Hi all,

Looking for some advice on how to cleanly install a Dashcam, have come across all the awesome installs using the dongar doggle. I’m curious is there a way I can use some sort of clean dongle like that with my truck? I don’t have the power mirror but I do have this box, I’m assuming there is power in there but I’m not even sure what it’s for. Any guidance would be great. I’d love plug and play.

 

Have you looked into Fitcamx? It replaces that black cover with the camera.

 

I have two cameras from this company now and have been very impressed with how easily they install and the quality of the camera. I originally went with them because our Odyssey doesn't have exposed wiring either, so this pulled power from the map lights.

So yeah I’ve seen this! I’m still not 100% clear if it’ll work without that automatic rearview connection or not? I keep searching but can’t really get a clear answer on it. I’ll have to reach out to them, but I absolutely love the idea that it looks so much like a manufacturer component.

 

It pulls power from the adaptive cruise control module, so your lack of rearview mirror plug is a non factor.
