Do they not sell the ones that fit the actual trucks anymore? that weird lid fitment just seems odd, like the kid in highschool who tried to make one in shop class or something.

No disrespect intended, but the Oedro running boards another member and I purchased turned out to be not so good. I sold mine on MP without ever installing them. Sort of flimsy what I was told, after it was too late. Tried to go cheap, got burned.

I believe the bedrails are inter-generational. The whole bed system is the same 1st to 3rd gen. I've read the rails are the same for the 4th gen but have no personal experience with that.
When I ordered the back rail the dealer told me it was 1st and 2nd gen only and wouldn't work. It works just fine. All the bolts line up and the tie downs, mini tie downs, and t-bolts fit exactly as in the side rail.

My ‘03 didn’t have rails or a composite bed.
I could definitely see 2nd gen being the same though

As a former Jeep owner I find questions like this really amusing. On the jeep it would all be soaked in oil and that would just be considered normal :)

I'm going on about 8 months on a similar version I installed. Probably just rebranded. Got it off Amazon for $500ish. Solid so far. No issues. I'm happy with it. Also happy I didn't pay $2k for a fancy one.

Great work my dude, it looks sturdy and well built. One suggestion with respect and kindness, no hate. The swing out should swing to the passenger side so that it does not have the opportunity to swing into oncoming traffic when you are on the side of the road. Carrier hinge on the passenger side, tire on the driver side so that the tire sits behind you in your natural blind spot.

Not much of a mod, but ADS finally made a license plate frame so now I have a proper truck frame. Only took 3.5 years to find a good one. The truck is about done so the little tweaks make me happy.

Got my 150k oil change and tire rotation in today (a real rotation and not whatever the dealership does). I was impressed at how good the oil still looks and it doesn't seem to burn any.

Side note: does anyone know what this is or if it does anything important? It seems like just a plug. Does anyone know the part number if needed?

Yes, the rails themselves are the same. I could be wrong, but there appears to be a difference between generations on the distance from the front of the rail to the surface of the bed side. After printing another designers bed rail cup holder, it was apparent that their 2nd generation bed rail distance was much farther away from the 3rd gen, this caused the holder's angle to be completely off. This could be do to them using an aftermarket product on their rail, I am not sure. In any case, a redesign was warranted after measuring my unmodified 3rd gen's bed/rails.

Hey Thanks! And yes, Baja Designs S2 Sport. It's bright as balls, lol. Was worried it wouldn't be as effective mounted that low, but it is pretty insane. Cleanest place on another otherwise stock rear end I could think of to mount it.
