Good morning, all! I'm not sure why I'm up this early, but I guess that's what coffee is for.

Sounds good been away a bit what happened ? My right hand has been almost useless for 5 years. I have a level 4 collapsed wrist. I have been avoiding surgery since the magor injury. Mostly wear and tear stuff, but a recent acquaintance gave me a med that's available OTC in a couple states to try. What a game changer, been on it 12 days the swelling is down and I can pick up a toothpick from a counter. The surgery is one I want to avoid as long as possible because it's a slight upgrade from amputation. It's referred to a boxers surgery. Removal of the carpel bones and 2 steel plates, complete loss of any wrist mobility. I'm hoping to be able to ride my peddle bike again this year.

I did get a 1650cc 'big bore' kit but not much beyond that, but maybe I don't remember, lol?!
The 70s were a wonderful decade to be a teenager, weren't they?

Speaking of getting old and the changes... I have been a bit overweight for much of my life, not extreme but size 38 pants for at least 20 years, 36 the previous 20, etc. Well.. I am down to 34 now and need a belt to keep them up! I think I was wearing 32 in high school? My all-time high was 235 lbs but I was at 220 for a long time with the last time 8 months ago. This morning, for the first time in who knows how long, I am at 185! This is without much exercise because of two back surgeries. If I walked and swam more, I am sure it would have come off sooner. This is simply using GLP-1 (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Trulicity, are a couple of brands advertised) weekly, and my hunger drive vanishes. Less food is needed to fill me but I still can eat whatever I want. I just don't want to eat very much. My wife is thrilled that I may live longer, too.

OK, back to the weather report... LOL
Lots of rain yesterday (Tuesday) and so far, just cloudy today. It's 54° and some sun is getting through, but a bigger rain storm is coming tomorrow. We just went to Costco so we are stocked with food, booze, and gasoline ($4.13/ gallon, I think it was down to. It was $4.36 last week). We live in far north San Diego County.
Good morning / Have a great day!

    Morning all:

Good to see some positive updates from Tom, Murray, and David.

Been working on my spring "to do" list, the problem is when I cross one thing off I add two more to it!

Talked to the neighbor last night, something killed a bunch of his chickens, he thinks it may have been a fisher cat.
I had seen a weasel along the wood line between our property and had told him about it, for some reason he doesn't think it was a weasel that did it though. :notsure:
Whatever did it just went after the head and neck, sure sounds like a weasel to me, especially after seeing one in the immediate vicinity of the penned in area that he kept them in.

I've often referred to that as "homeowner math" I'd start with a list of 10 things to do and cross some off as they were completed but during this process you realize you need to add other things that have cropped up and you didn't know needed done when you made the list. Hence you start with 10 items, complete 4 of them, and end up with 12 left to do. :annoyed:

A Fisher (cat) is a weasel. Weasels are all mustelids and range from ermine to wolverine size.

Haven’t posted here in a while. Kinda took a vacation from this forum and the internet in general. I’m back. Been lurking though.
Concerning the fisher (some call them fisher cats) and the weasel, they look a lot alike. Most people wouldn’t know the difference. I’ve seen weasel’s though spotting one is rare. Not sure if I’d be able the tell the difference unless pretty close. It’s well known that they both like a good chicken dinner.
An atmospheric river is coming through here over the next 3 days. Lots of rain and snow in the mountains. Winds with gusts to
50+ mph. I get a brake from the honey do list.
I haven’t seen any posts from Oldie (Kurt) for awhile, I hope he’s ok.

So tell us what you did with all your free time. I've been thinking a lot about my internet time and wondering about taking a break. It's an addiction but it keeps my mind more active than otherwise.

You are right, it is addicting. I’m a voracious reader and I found more time to read. Spent more time puttering in my shop and spent more time socializing with friends. And last but definitely not least spent more time doing stuff with my wife.
I’ve dropped out from some sites and it kind of like going through withdrawal but I’m sticking with TW.

    Evening all:

Don't think about it, just do it! :D
Welcome to the porch, BTW. the cooler's almost empty and it's your turn to fill it!

Same here, I'm always searching for information or interesting reads on the contraption!

Technically yes, but a weasel is a weasel, and a fisher is a fisher :)! If it was a fisher, he can thank the state for reintroducing them by stocking them a few years back.

Just got done charging boat batteries, on every battery that I have ever charged that had removable caps, I removed the caps when charging, after looking on the puter it says there is no need to do that, just leave them on, gave it a try and all is well. :)
