Some sort of old Honda Civic or a Corolla. Buick LeSabre is a good pick too

Parts for these cars are ridiculously cheap and abundant. Can keep one going forever on a tight budget. My sister has had her 98 Civic for over 15 years.

3k is not an easy one anymore... but id say a simple civic they are everywhere easy to work on and cheap to own.

only down side is the 90s-2000 model civics are getting a bit pricey for stuff since a lot are being stripped down now! but can still get a bunch of cheap junk from rockauto at least.

Ironic to me you chose a 300zx TT as a “budget daily driver” . My Z is by far the most valuable vehicle in my collection. Granted it’s sorted, show quality clean, and only 49k miles.

But for the off topic game, I’d say an old beater Corolla. Had one like 6-7 years ago, got it for around $3k, drove it for a few years, then sold it for $3500.

Previously had a 2000 Civic; absolutely loved it and wish I never got rid of it. They're still out there for cheap, but its so incredibly hard to find one thats not clapped out, engine swapped 6 times, with a big fart cannon.. Kinda like my 300zx journey; really hard to find now, but still doable!

Well of course its valuable, thats why its my choice! I didn't say it'd be in show quality condition; its gonna be clearcoat failing, paint underneath faded/destroyed, and needs a lot of love. But it is still doable to find one that runs and drives for $3k, at least in the southeast. It aint gonna be pretty though. Thats why I left the requirements loose; just needs to run/drive and be $3k. I'll agree with you guys though, finding a TT at that budget is next to impossible. Its why I'm gonna settle for NA.

Ive been trying to hunt down a mk4 jetta gli 24v vr6 but hard to find and the ones I find have been molested and superhigh mileage and want stupid money for it. No I don't want you poorly modified vw and slammed to the ground with cut springs.
I regret selling my 04 gli

Black one looks just like the one I had (minus the red door lol). Love the HX wheels.

haha nice. but ya the black shell i got for 200 bucks but it had no doors no hood no fenders lol. so i took all the bits off the red one to make it complete. the hx wheels came from the red shell i ended up selling those a couple weeks ago. i love the gsr blades! but idk just no desire to do this full body swap and restoration thing anymore...

I actually had an HX. It was fun being a gas saver hah. Those HX wheels are the lightest wheels Honda made if I remember correctly (at least at that time), and they actually looked really nice. Enkei made them I think.

I've been on a jdm kick lately so I'm going to go with a 1999 Honda Z UM-4 Turbo. If anyone knows of a deal, let me know!

idk bout fun haha that d16y5 was guuuutless lmao the 5spd trans in mine exploded from some bearing failure so i just swapped it all for a b18b1 with a si trans. that is correct the hx wheels are the lightest wheels for oem 14in wheels at i think it was 10lbs a wheel? and yup they are made by enkei. they are awesome wheels buuuut it was getting hard to get tires for them on more fun tires since the plan was a track car. so i went up to a cheap set of 15s

I bought my clean, running and driving 2002 BMW 325xi for $2500. Honestly couldnt have asked for a better deal, fully loaded with the sport package and cold weather options. Just needed a good interior detail and a power steering pump.

My buddy had a super clean crx couple years ago but was rear ended by some kid staring at his phone at 60mph. Than was pushed into a on coming car coming from the other direction. Thankfully he wasnt seriously injured.

Solid choice! I had a couple of these on my radar as well, but ultimately decided against the BMW route.
