yup yup yup, but coming to an Expert in this field you would think the Expert would recommend something different ESPECIALLY if seeing a 3 in spacer lift is already installed lol. This was clearly about making a quick 720$ to replace existing parts and giving the customer his car back knowing he’s under the impression now he has a 3in lift. That shows low morals & ethics bro. If im a shop owner and someone brings me something to install and when I go to install it, they already have the existing parts. I personally would call them back to ask them if they would like to return or upgrade from what they originally have. That was not done which points to them just trying to make a buck at the end of the day.

Was there a 3" spacer already installed though? You can't even answer that. Post some photos of your suspension on the truck now, that way we can at least verify they installed the parts YOU brought them.

This is probably why a lot of shops won't install anything unless they provide it. They don't want held responsible for outcomes like this. The customer is unhappy, even when they did exactly what the customer asked. Yet at the same time, if a shop won't install stuff from a customer, the customer just thinks it's because they want to charge an obscene markup on parts. It's a no win situation for the installer. My go to installer usually gets parts cheaper than I could find them, so even with a markup it comes out the same, so I'm happy.

Did you ever ask him if he saw a spacer on there before? I’m sure they would remember what they had to take off and typically would give you the part that they replaced.

he claims there was not a spacer before. But look at the before & after photos. Some sort of spacer had to be there to look this similar if not identical

You're claim is the truck had a lift that was removed and replaced with a lift you bought.

We have no clue if that's correct.

But I find it odd you've owned it for 3 years and didn't know it was already lifted. If it was.

Therefore, the heart of this life lesson still lies in post 4.

Know what you're doing before having it done.

you don’t think as an expert for 15 years it would’ve been a good idea to call the customer back and see if they would want to upgrade from what they’re having installed since they already have that existing in the vehicle. It’s interesting as you guys are missing the whole shady part as to how this dude made money being shady. I asked him if there was a previous spacer or lift kit, and he said no, it legit looks identical to what it look like before, so there had to be something in there. if there was no lift kit or leveling kit in it previously, how would it look as similar as it does now with the 3 inch lift

You're absolutely higher in the top pic. And I noticed scrolling through again you had posted some pictures of the rear of your truck. If you only installed spacers in the front ($250 kit only comes with front spacers) than the rear didn't change. Were you expecting increased rear height as well as front? That might also be why the installer called it more of a leveling kit than a lift kit.

What's frustrating is OP doesn't seem to know what was/is on his truck, and is more interested in identifying a bad guy and arguing a victim angle. Dude, measure your center of hub to fender and take some pictures of the suspension. Sorry you don't know if there was or wasn't a spacer lift before, that's your bad for being uninformed. Sound's like you want to make up some story based on little evidence, and are looking for affirmation. Sorry, don't want to hurt your feelies, but there's better ways to go about these things if you're actually interested in learning.

I went to a tire shop so they could mount 4 new tires on my truck. I provided the tires. When I picked up the truck it looks the same and all they did was put on the new tires. Why didn't the shop call me and tell me I already had 4 tires on the truck. Dammit, should I call the shop and bitch at them? Maybe I'll write them a bad review. How dare they. You would think the tire shop would know better.:playball:

I know, I know.....it's not the same :sadviolin:

And you're not just missing my point, you aren't even on the same field.

Let's assume you are correct, and shenanigans happened. Of course, shame on him. No one's disputing that.

However, IF you were taken advantage of, it could have been easily avoided with something so simple.

Like knowing what the state of the suspension was originally.

Like knowing what you needed to buy to achieve your goal

Like doing simple standard measurements before and after the work.

Ok, I'm out. Time to go exercise my ignore button.

Best wishes (sincerely) in your future projects!
