This is the second Tacoma that I’ve owned. My first one was a first GEN that I had for 12 years. It had front and rear off-road bumpers, a winch & a camper shell in the back with heavy leaf springs. It drove like CRAP and that’s with having Fox coilovers in the front that made no difference, But that was just the first GEN ride quality for you.

I plan on keeping this 3rd Gen as stock as possible with a simple kit and maybe upgrade to 17’s but stay at 265’s. This looks like a good deal online. Everything is included plus the upper control arms. Just want to hear some thoughts from whoever has ran this kit before.

I went with the (Standard) old man emu leaf springs instead of an add a leaf or a block since I do go camping a lot with the family and take a lot of stuff with me. Especially during hunting season.

    Appreciate any feedback on this.

If staying with 265s, do you need control arms? If you want to save a few bucks, might skip that. If the price isn't a big deal, yeah, can't hurt getting them.

I was thinking the same thing, I'll think about it again before I buy it.

I run a 2" lift the 5100s with OME springs - I went up one with the heavier springs because I am armored up with sliders and skid plates all the way back. I went with RXT leaf packs which work for me - Deaver seems to be the leaf pack that gets the best reviews but I am happy with mine so far.

Not sure if you plan to take it off road any but if so I would stay with the 16" wheels and get more sidewall 265/75R16 no trimming or cutting needed. for ~$300 you could get a CMC (cab mount chop) and just a little fender liner trimming you could go up to 33s and fill the fender wells a little better. But yeah if you are sticking with the 265 don't really see a need for UCA.
