Does Toyota print a max pressure on any of the 3rd gen rims?

I have not seen any. I'm assuming any OEM rim would be stronger (from a pressure standpoint) than any normal tire.

Has this ever been a thing, ever?

If 50psi or 100psi of air is going to damage a vehicle's wheel, there are bigger things that need to be examined.

I have never seen an automotive rim (wheel) crack, break or blow apart from over inflation, the rubber tire or valve stem will let go 1st... I have and or seen low pro tires being aired up to 100 psi or more trying to seat a bead... People will also spray to much starting fluid in a tire to seat the beads and blow the tire clean off the wheel without damaging the wheels...

The old split rims are the ones that could/would come apart...

rim pressure? You might want to explain what you are looking for because I don't think your question as stated makes a lot of sense or you are going way beyond what is commonly known.

I just want clarification on why this is a concern. As stated velve stem or tire will fail long before a wheel will.

Oh I just thought OP was asking if they printed the intended psi on the wheels for the tires that were mounted. The Army does stuff like this. Pretty sure we all know the rim doesn’t really care.

My sweet-spot cold PSI is 34. I am okay with the ride and wear. Never really thought about what max pressure is.

I mean I've seen much worse questions on here. I don't think its fair to judge this one.

There is no posted max pressure on any passenger rim. The tire is the weak point, most light truck tires max out at 80psi, and the standard truck tires max out at 44psi.

youre going to over-inflate a tire to the point where need to be worried about max rim air pressure....????o_O:eek::frusty:
shouldn't over-inflate a tire or set it to max psi in ANY circumstance...

Had a bicycle tire rupture in my face when I was a teenager. I was deaf in my right ear for a few days before it started to slowly come back. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Place I work at did a hearing test and the guy figured I was in the military since only my right ear had signs of damage... nope...

    We are missing context.

The truck comes with SL tires rated at 44psi max, maybe they want LT tires rated for 60-80psi max.

You are supposed to run LT 10ply at around 45psi when hauling with these trucks.

Either way this thread is turning into a crap show.

I run mine as high as 65, but usually 55 front, 60 rear. But I've got a stupid use-case.

Ya I’d be closer to 60 with your camper.

I tow 3000 or haul 350 often but 45 is enough

Some rims have max pressure casted into the back of the rim. The number is also relative to the sidewall area. For example,

265/70r16 at 35psi has roughly 4200lb force pulling laterally on the lip of the rim.

If we scale up to a 35" tire, because of the higher sidewall area the tire pressure would need to be 22.5psi to have the same load on the rim.

Is a 35 with 35psi going to break the rim? My guess is that it's still within the safety factor but I don't know for sure.
