Nice truck man. How’re ya liking the koyo radiator? Which model is it? My original is starting to look pretty dilapidated

 

It’s technically for V6 trucks (they don’t make a 2.7 specific one - but everyone who buys a Koyo for the 2.7 buys this one as it enhances the cooling capability and capacity greatly. This is for a manual only. Can’t remember if auto requires a mod (for tranny cooler) or if there’s a specific version for auto.

so far I love it! OEM rad was definitely toast even though I didn’t have over heating problems (yet).

It was the first thing I did since 3RZ engines are bullet proof if you keep them cool, clean, and valves in spec. People complain about head gaskets blowing but don’t realize that radiator needs to be TITS as they age to keep it super cool along with getting rid of that shitty cast iron exhaust manifold that doesn’t dissipate heat well down the system (hence it cracks and can crack exhaust head)

here’s my old one… was just a matter of time before I had issues!

note: if you get the Koyo just know the aluminum will be scalding hot to the touch after a drive. You will touch it by accident at least once lol. Only downside to aluminum radiators IMO.

 

Sick. Definitely going for that. I’ve got the manual model too. Did you need to make any modifications since it’s for the v6 or was it plug and play?

 

100% plug and play. Just take your time. Most annoying part is just dealing with fan shroud/removing it and being super careful to not bend fins on the new Koyo.

also, grab one of these when burping/purging the system of air - makes life way easier and you can visually see when no more air bubbles are coming up indicating you’re golden.

 

This is one of those tools that’s worth every penny.

IMO, the best tire size for these 1st gens with IFS along with 255/85/16. Nice truck mate!

Bilstein 5100 with ring on highest setting and OME springs
I'm pretty sure its 2 1/2" in front
Icon 2" AAL in the rear.
The AAL is is only 1 1/2" if you take the overload leaf out when you add it, but I left it in for the extra 1/2" and so it wouldn't sag when loaded.
