If the O.P. wants to have the best of both worlds of ride comfort, height, and capacity, yes it costs more but there is more value than just an add a leaf. We have seen many customers go from add a leafs to full leaf packs so they can have a smoother unloaded ride.

Like I said it all depends on the O.P.s money supply.

Ok...it always depends on money supply when purchasing anything. I rather see the O.P. do it once and do it right because it can save the O.P. money in the long run. You agreed with another member suggesting a whole bunch of parts already...

how much worse is the ride with an AAL? I bought an Icon progressive AAL in 2023 and its still sitting in my garage. I did my own 5100's on click 3 in the front and the back end is lower.... Ive gotten used to it but the trucks sags hard with a full bed of gardening stuff/soil/mulch

It does make it pretty stiff. Everyone's tolerance to ride comfort is different. Personally I have been in a truck with AAL and then in same truck when the leaf pack was swapped out and I am not sure I would ever do an AAL again. Ride comfort was very noticeably different.
