It is! Let me know if you make it to the north country and I’ll take you for a spin.

Assuming there’s no salt on the roads.. And the temps are above 45f… Preferably no rain!! :fistbump:

Speaking of pedestrian Fords, a 34 coupe is my all time favorite

Getting back to Forscan, it lets you do all sorts of things like turning off the double horn honks if you leave the car running and changing the splash screen. I much prefer the aggressive red of the R model:IMG_8418.jpg

I guess it’s just MAC tool week for me. Went to an auction today and drug this 50” box home for $600. Had a lot of junk in it, 2 trash bags full and also 5 gallons of scrap metal.

Had some MAC, Snap-on, and a couple Craftsman items though.

This is the good stuff, minus the bolts I put in the bolt bin.

Glued this together with the spool gun for the plasma cutter. Tired of dragging it.

I had no intentions of buying anything today. I have been wanting a bigger toolbox for a while. Couldn’t pass this one up with the stuff in it.

Didn’t know I had so many wrenches until I put them all in one drawer.

    upload_2025-3-15_18-22-21.jpg

Sockets were in 3 drawers on the other box.

    upload_2025-3-15_18-22-53.jpg

Still haven’t opened the MAC wrenches I bought the other day, may save them and give them to Cole when he gets a little older.

Can I perhaps recommend you use them to replace those in your collection. THEN take those you replaced to put aside for him. Personally, I’m connected to my father’s tools more than I am the tools my father bought for me. He also did the same for my son. My kids appreciate that connection.

my interest in fords stops directly at the point that they turned to microsoft to develop the sync system. i'll take anything they made before that, right on down to a tempo or fiesta, but after, i don't even want your car!

my dad is finalizing some of the insurance paperwork today for his now-pending retirement in 6 weeks, so no progress on the rental basement this weekend. which is good too because it was nice outside.

got both vehicles cleaned up, and a 8/10 interior detail that they both desperately needed.

then i broke out the snow blower and started fiddling with the carb. after hacking off major parts of the plastics, it wasn't so bad to get to anymore.

but they did leave me a jewel from the factory.

someone never put the squeeze ring over the carbs fuel line connection. but it never leaked, so i guess it's still a win.

really an odd carb. it's one of the first i've seen/noticed that has a float bowl drain bolt, but the carb was so buried before that it was a useless feature until the plastics were removed for access.

otherwise, took it all apart, and alternated soakings of brake clean and carb cleaner until the puddle underneath it ran clear. seems to have done the trick. it runs great at all the appropriate choke settings now. but a new carb is $22, so i'll likely be getting a replacement to occupy my shelf space for a while just in case-- especially now that it's so much easier to get to.

next project for the snow blower is going to definitely be adding a tee to the fuel line to make it easier to drain the tank at the end of the season. of course, this time, now that i found the bowl drain, i just used that, but it went too slow for my liking.

You find all the cool stuff! :101010:

I did manage to get my grandfather on my dads side toolbox back in '22 when they were cleaning up the 'estate after gpa and gma died within a month of each other. Lots of drama with that one, but to be expected with that side of the family.

He was a small engine mechanic on top of barbering hair, so the toolbox was in pretty rough shape. Still is, I just haven't gotten around to finally cleaning it all out and putting stuff in it.

Did find a couple invoices in there that are older than me

Right now it kind of just occupies space. Guess I need to finally get it cleaned and put stuff in it this week when I'm off.
