Do we just need to PM Ian? I'm new to the form and I believe I already did... Want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Yea. I sent him one last month, he said he was taking time off for the holidays with the family and would get back to me. Still waiting on that part, but at least the dialogue has started.

Had some 4runner shocks come through recently that turned out looking great! Owner scored these cheap and had me rebuild them so he could swap later with no down time.

This thread is like candy for me!! Seeing this pics and reading all the positive feedback makes me want to rebuild NOW! But I’m not even at 50k with 90% over road driving, no leaks and ride still feels solid. Circling back / BUT… I do have a rear shock that is giving me an audible “squish” sound - it is annoying. Thinking it is probably a bushing or deal within the shock. Wondering if anybody else sees this and what it could be? Running Fox TRD Pro suspension from factory. Appreciate any insight - probably tough without actually being underneath truck.

My rear has had a very loud and annoying squeak and made a bunch of other noises for the longest time. I thought for sure it was the leafs or bushings so I kept hunting it down. Last year I finally narrowed it down to the Fox shocks, poked a little hole in the dust boot and shot in some lube, noise was gone! Fast forward to a few months ago, noise came back and I noticed the rear rides a bit rough compared to when I first got it. Decided to pull the shocks completely and take a look. Both were dirty and when compressed would make a loud squeak/rub noise. More concerning was they didn't travel smooth and didn't rebound, almost seemed to snag during movement. I cleaned them off really good, used a lithium lube on the shafts and compressed them through full range a few times (had to actually pull the shaft the first few times) but they finally started traveling smooth. Put them back in and no more squeak or other odd noise and rides sooo much better. I'm sure I'm coming due for service but this atleast should get me by until then. Might be something to look into.

Great info! Congrats on identifying and resolving the issue. Would rather not spend the $ on a rebuild if I don’t need to. But You’re probably right, getting time for a rebuild. Hate to spend time and $ correcting this issue on one shock only to find that the other 3 are coming due. :annoyed:

Hey Ian! I’m looking for the replacement bushings for the front lower fox shocks (Toyota TRD pro OEM) but can’t seem to find them anywhere online.

Would you happen to know the part number for this?? Or even sell a pair to me?

Really appreciate all the details you’ve provided here in this thread!

I read through this but the part number for the lower bushings on the front shocks aren’t provided. It only says Ian can replace it. Hence, my question.

Yep, send your coilovers to him for a full rebuild with new lower bushings, and you will be dialed.

I’m trying to order the bushing and do the work myself. This is my only vehicle so it’s something I have to take care of within a day. For some reason I can’t send him a direct message either.
