@six5crèéd I got the easy-out out. Bad news is that the mag drill migrated during milling and took out a quarter of my threads, and the rest of the original bolt isn't coming out of the threads either (looks cross-threaded). So I guess I'm just over-boring and heli-coiling. I've never done a heli-coil before and any tips and tricks would be much appreciated.

I started with a 1/8" Carbide endmill, then stepped up to a 8mm (minimum thread diameter). I setup the drill the 2nd time with a bushing to center it, then removed the bushing so the endmill wouldn't eat it. I guess at some point it walked though.

You looked into how much data mining car manufacturer's sell off nowadays? Nissan was even found to be recording if you did the deed in the vehicle.

We don't use heli-coils, they have special taps and such. We use these threaded inserts, you can get them in a lot of sizes. It tells you what size drill and tap to use for them, the drill size is bigger than normal. Here's McMasters list, scroll down to the metric sizes.

Click on the part # then on product detail, it tells you everything.

Unfortunately, Nissan uses an M10x1.0 thread for their 350z flywheel bolts.

    Love it.

A fully over-engineered solution with hours dedicated to a task that'd typically take 10 minutes.

What really tops it off is the pristine equipment, lawn, clothing, gloves and surgically clean sketchers work boots.

    Nice work fellas.

Do tell me more..the friends were staying with the wife drives an Armada, which looking at it either has a recessed hitch covered in plastic or no hitch at all.

Do you just throw your hands up and go guess I'll just eventually have to get newer vehicles with that data mining prerogative OR just go totally the other way and buy only older vehicles?
Society will probably look at ya funny but I've never let society determine my next move. Hearing crap like that makes me want to daily an 85 c/k 1500 and go back to flip phones.
