My son just bought a 2021 SR AC with 100K miles. We're pretty sure it was a fleet vehicle previously, so there are a couple of things that need attention.

First, the jack kit is missing entirely. Will any old scissor jack fit the locker in the back of the cab? Is there a better option (bottle jack) that will fit in that space?

Second, it came with just one (non-remote) key. It has power door locks, so does that automatically mean that he could get a pair of remote keys?

Third, it doesn't have a tow ball and he could have a need to pull a small trailer from the bumper. Are all of the bumpers prepped/drilled for a ball? I'm assuming that since it doesn't even have a ball, that it didn't come with a tow package. Does that mean that we're wiring lights from scratch or are they all pre-wired for towing lights?

Hi, your truck is likely to be one with 2.7 4cyl engine which is not meant for towing. The 3rd gen Tacomas ( 2016-2023 ) have 2 engines, V6 and 4cyl, V6 comes with tow package. You could still attach tow ball, does it have tow plugs? like in the back by below the tailgate? to plug wiring

For the jack, I would go and ask dealer who sold it to you.. If not, you can maybe just get used one, from junkyard or just buy it separately, its kinda messed up they sold truck without the jack.

    Does it have this?

Yes, it has the 2.7L. It definitely doesn't have the class 3 receiver. I can't recall, but I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have the OEM plugs. His 05 AC had a ball mounted on the bumper. Also a 2.7L. Obviously not an ideal tow vehicle, but perfectly capable of pulling a small trailer with a few hundred pounds of stuff.

It was a private owner, probably bought cheap out of auction would be my guess. There are several other things that lead us to believe that it was a fleet - gps tracker still installed, random floor mats, additional 12v outlets, back seat delete, mismatched tires, etc. But he got a really good deal on a solid engine/frame/body, so we can sort out all of these issues.

Back when I purchased my `18, I purchased a 4 pin wiring kit from Tekonsha that was "plug and play". No cutting into the trucks wiring harness, etc. I don't remember the part # or the price. I do remember having to take out the left rear taillight and plugging a connector inline with the harness for the taillight.
