Bit of a longshot … but anyone on here with a 2nd Gen and a DCU cap with barn doors?

Looking for an overall length measurement (with or without the front “L” bracket)- as well as a “tailgate” height measurement (ie bottom of door up to where it bumps out for the bed sides)

I know this is an old thread but which DCU model is this? What is the internal height from the bed rails to the top?

DIY camper for my sister! Everything was custom built, cut, or fabricated by me other than the windows and latches

 

I can confirm that a 3rd gen DCU with barn doors will fit on a 2nd gen. Nearly perfectly. Just needs some extra foam up front to fill the 1” gap at the bed rail, and maybe a few extra pieces in the back.

 

May I ask the height from bed top to top of the cap, 26 or higher. I’m looking at this for a 2019
With 1 window the size you have and paint it flat black with maybe a pinch of silver mixed in to go with the cement color? Any chance of more pictures?Thank you

Here's mine! I gutted the toolbox. I have a full length bed mat. But I really don't like the contractor look. Should I paint it? Vinyl wrap? Any recommendations? Also, should I preemptively upgrade the suspension if i want to leave it on full time?? I don't have anywhere to store it otherwise.

 

It’s fine as is. Drive the hell outta that thing.

 

Checking to see if you were able to use a different handle and it works to be able to open and lock from the inside. If so can you post some info for them. Thanks

 

No i wasn't able to. I got rid of the shell. I've seen a bunch of others with a lift up handel as a search for a new one though.
