I was at a burger joint yesterday, and there was two ladies and a teen with them. After placing my order I sit down by the window to admire my beauty out in the parking lot. :)

After about a minute one of the ladies says "excuse me, but may I ask what that thing is on the side of your truck? We have a couple of theories but we really don't know what it is  "

Me: :) ah, It's a snorkel, it allows the truck to breath cleaner air when off roading, and if the truck happens to go in water too deep, it won't let water into the engine because the air intake sits higher than when it was stock" along those lines,.. "so what were some of the theories?" I ask

They reply: oh, either a camera, or exhaust, or just something else we don't know about, then they all start to laugh at how wrong they were, and I just smile and say, "wow you guys were way off". They laugh even more, and I laugh with them, end of story. ahhaha

Yea, this truck definitely turns waaay more heads than before, especially since I painted the flares. I see people looking at it on the highway, in the school parking lot, everywhere! Some confused looks, like someone here already mentioned, haha, those are the best.

Ya, agreed, without y'alls input, I would have taken forever just to cut the stupid hole. I still haven't gotten around to actually hooking it up :(

ya, I really don't wanna spend money at a muffler shop to get the tube bent, but I also haven't been able to find anything to hook it up to the stock air intake. I have to cut the hole a bit larger, the one the stock intake goes through inside the engine bay.

The snorkel itself is lined up perfectly with the antenna, but it's time consuming, and I've been studying for finals+TW on my free time.

Speaking of which, I went wheeling with the some of the guys from tacomaoffroad.com, and I went through a pretty deep puddle. As in the water went over the front bumper, and managed to get some muddy water on the URD intake behind the grill , luckily nothing happened. It was a stupid risky move with that intake, but it didn't seem that bad when I saw other trucks crossing the water.

Driving through the water you could see the water splashing in the front of the truck. I went through some nasty spots with out a scratch, I was real lucky. :D

A small handful of select mods.
So I took my piece of bent muffler pipe off yesterday just to inspect it. As I thought I was just beginning to get a bit of rust on the cut ends of the bent pipe. The rest of the pipe was fine just needed to spray the ends with some primer and Rustoleum.

    Keep that in mind.

I am still considering a piece of polished aluminum to reduce drag and any contaminants.

I'm still gonna go 3" intake hose if I don't reuse the stock stuff.
