I worked many of these concerts as a PT stage hand during HS and into college. No ear protection. Would often sit stage L or R near the speaker banks. I now have that lovely constant ringing sound (fairly mild thankfully).

 

Freedom always rings when you have military grade tinnitus. (Mine was from the engine rooms, gunfire, and helos.. but still)

 

There were lots of guns & freedom seeds involved as well.

I had 4 12" sub's in my first car, so that all started it.

Now I work in industrial so it's constant noise. I can't even hear the hum of the switch gear room anymore

I will also note when a 25HP VFD blows up that will deafen you for a little bit. Oddly enough I've experienced that more than once.

Hmmm wonder why there's ear plugs in my arc flash kit...

 

I keep ear plugs everywhere. Kinda like the reading glasses I need for close up tasks.

 

I've started using them more often. Ever since going to 1st shift I now have to do quarterly PM's which require blowing out the machinery with a high volume air gun. After a month of that noise I was like "oh hey, I should use the company provided ear plugs"

 

I'm going to try a set of these for work.
