I ended up getting a Texas toll tag, I was reading up on it might not work with a tinted windshield lol. Says to place below sun strip, I have 15 percent with 5 percent sun strip is lower than normal. Any one else have this problem if works or not

If it's like California Fastrak tags (which I believe are RFID) then the issue is specifically with certain types of metallic tint windshields that can block the tag's signal, not simply with just having a darker windshield tint. Metallic tints were generally an issue with certain vehicle manufacturers from factory from what others have said on that I've read.

Ive seen people cut the tint out in a perfect shape of the toll tag. I've heard you don't really need it in Texas unless you are trying to get into airport parking and a few other places that the tag makes free. The tolls look for the RFID in the sticker but if it can't find the sticker then it just scans your plate and bills your account the discounted rate.

Without peeling the backing, tape the tag to the tint with masking tape and drive through and see if it registers. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Never had problems with an EZ pass on tint. Although the tags are different

Harris County (Houston) toll road tag is in my glove compartment and it works fine. I replace too many windshields due to all the hill country area aggregate trucks slinging rocks everywhere.

Funny part is that a toll road clerk told me to leave it in the glove compartment and it will work.
